6 Overlooked Spider-Man Villains Who Could Finally Make Their Live-Action Debuts In 2026

Several lesser-known Spider-Man villains might finally get their moment in the spotlight in 2026. With two new live-action Spider-Man projects coming out this year, there are more chances than ever to expand the character’s universe. We already know that some Spider-Man enemies who haven’t been featured in live-action films before will make their debut this year.

The upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature Tom Holland’s Peter Parker battling Tombstone, with Boomerang and Tarantula also appearing. Plus, fans will finally see Scorpion in costume, ten years after Michael Mando first played the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The TV show Spider-Noir will introduce the live-action character Silvermane, and likely a fully realized Molten Man. With both the new Marvel movie and the Nicolas Cage series coming to Prime Video, we could see a wide range of characters appear, even some lesser-known ones who haven’t gotten much attention before.

Man Mountain Marko

I’ve always been fascinated by Spider-Man’s villains, and while Man Mountain Marko isn’t as famous as some, I think he actually has a pretty good chance of showing up in a movie someday. He first appeared back in 1969, and he’s this incredibly strong gangster who used to be Silvermane’s right-hand man – a really imposing figure, honestly.

As a huge Spider-Man fan, I think Man Mountain Marko would be a perfect fit for the vibe of Spider-Noir. He’s done some seriously bad things in the comics, which matches the show’s dark tone, and his history with Silvermane is key. Everything we’ve seen in the Spider-Noir marketing points to Silvermane being a major player – possibly the main villain – and Marko’s connection to him feels essential to that storyline.

He’s sure to have other criminals ready to take orders, and Man Mountain Marko is likely to be one of them, given his background in comics. Using Marko would provide Silvermane with a partner in crime and give Ben Reilly a tough opponent when he eventually faces Silvermane’s crew.

Hammerhead

Hammerhead, while not as famous as villains like Kingpin, has been a Spider-Man enemy for years and deserves to appear in a live-action movie or show. So far, the best version of the character has been in Spider-Noir, likely because of its 1930s historical setting.

Hammerhead has a uniquely shaped head he uses for fighting, and he’s famously portrayed as having the attitude, habits, and style of a gangster from the 1920s. If this character were updated for today, that part of his personality might be changed or feel strange to audiences.

Hammerhead would fit perfectly into the world of Spider-Noir. Given that organized crime will likely play a major role in the story, it’s reasonable to expect Hammerhead to appear as one of the crime leaders Ben Reilly encounters in New York City.

Big Wheel

Jackson Weele debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man #182 in 1978. He’s a villain who commits crimes while driving a huge, armored wheel built for him by the Tinkerer—a character fans will recognize from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The Big Wheel is often a laughingstock among comic book fans because of his silly name, unusual methods, and consistent defeats by Spider-Man. Jackson Weele, for better or worse, is a supervillain many people don’t see as a real threat.

A truly over-the-top villain like Big Wheel could create a really exciting and funny action scene in a live-action Spider-Man movie. If the filmmakers are planning to have Spider-Man fight several smaller-scale villains, Big Wheel would be a perfect choice for a standalone, action-packed fight with lots of potential for destruction.

Beetle

Abner Jenkins, also known as the Beetle, would fit right into the group of villains featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Like Boomerang, Tarantula, and Scorpion, he’s a low-level criminal who works as a hired gun. If those three are appearing because someone paid them to fight Spider-Man, there’s a good chance Beetle will be involved too.

Beetle would fit right into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first two Spider-Man films often used technology to explain how their villains gained their powers, and Beetle is similar – he relies on high-tech suits. His older suits, featuring things like suction cups and wings, offer a way to make him visually distinct from Iron Man, if the MCU wanted to differentiate him.

In Marvel comics, the Beetle takes charge of a group called the Sinister Syndicate. Similar to the Sinister Six, they battle Spider-Man, but they aren’t focused only on him, and they aren’t comprised of his most dangerous enemies. This is also the case with the villains appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day so far, meaning Spider-Man could still face off against Beetle and the Sinister Syndicate in the future.

The Enforcers

The Enforcers are a long-standing villain team in Spider-Man comics, first appearing in the early stories and continuing to show up in storylines about Marvel’s criminal world. They’ve also appeared in both Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Spider-Noir.

The Enforcers – Montana, Fancy Dan, and Ox – are a trio of mercenaries, each specializing in a different kind of combat. Ox is the muscle, relying on his incredible size and strength. Fancy Dan is a skilled fighter, proficient with both firearms and close combat. And Montana fights in a unique style, using a lasso like a traditional cowboy.

The characters could all be adapted to fit the dark, film-noir style of Spider-Man Noir, potentially in the upcoming Prime Video series. This feels logical, especially considering Silvermane in Spider-Noir is facing assassination attempts, which could be carried out by the Enforcers.

Alternatively, these three characters might be assassins working directly for Silvermane. If so, they could act as his enforcers during the conflict with Ben Reilly, appearing throughout the season as recurring villains that Ben battles.

Vermin

Vermin started as a foe for Captain America but later became one of Spider-Man’s enemies. Once a human, he’s now a monstrous creature living in the sewers. He can command rats and dogs, making him a dangerous opponent – so much so that Spider-Man initially needed Captain America’s assistance to defeat him.

If Spider-Noir wants to reimagine the classic Lizard story from Spider-Man comics, a villain like Vermin – with his cruel behavior and habit of eating others while living in New York City’s sewers – could be a more menacing alternative to Curt Connors.

While Ben Reilly generally focuses on fighting organized crime, the show might explore other types of cases. One episode could involve him investigating brutal murders that eventually lead to a confrontation with the villain Vermin.

As a huge Spider-Man fan, I’m really excited about Spider-Noir. From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be a much darker take on the character than we’ve seen before, and that actually gives them a great chance to finally do justice to some of the more…animalistic villains from the comics. It feels like a perfect fit!
