Jennifer Runyon, the actress known for her appearances in “Ghostbusters,” “A Very Brady Christmas,” and “Charles in Charge,” has passed away at the age of 65.
Runyon passed away on Friday, as announced in a statement on her social media account over the weekend. The account is now private.
Jennifer passed away this past Friday after a long and difficult battle. She was surrounded by her family at the time, according to a statement reported by ABC7. She will be dearly remembered for her zest for life and her unwavering love for those closest to her. Rest in peace, Jennifer.
Erin Murphy, known for her role on “Bewitched,” announced on Facebook and Instagram on Sunday that her friend Runyon had passed away after a short fight with cancer.
In her tribute, Murphy shared that some connections feel instant. She described the woman as a truly special person.
In the 1980s TV series “Charles in Charge,” Runyon played Gwendolyn Pierce, a college student who was both a classmate and romantic interest of the show’s main character, Charles (played by Scott Baio).
Entertainment & Arts
Annabel Schofield, known for her work as a model, actor, and boutique producer – including a memorable Bugle Boy jeans commercial and an appearance on the TV show ‘Dallas’ – has passed away at the age of 62.
Willie Aames, who starred alongside Runyon in “Charles in Charge,” remembered him as a close friend who inspired and supported others.
Aames wrote that she instantly connected with her colleague the moment they first met on set years ago. She described watching them struggle with their health in recent months as incredibly difficult, and said she can still clearly hear their voice. Aames feels their loss deeply, stating that no one could ever replace them.
Born and raised in Chicago, Maureen Runyon started her television career playing Sally Frame on the soap opera “Another World.” She also had guest roles on popular shows like “Magnum, P.I.,” “Quantum Leap,” and “Murder, She Wrote.” Fans will also recognize her as the adult Cindy Brady in “A Very Brady Christmas.”
I’ll never forget seeing her in “Ghostbusters” back in 1984! She played one of the students helping Bill Murray’s character, Peter Venkman, with his ESP experiments – a really memorable part in a classic movie.
As a total movie and TV fan, I was really saddened to hear about Runyon’s passing. Her daughter, Bayley Corman – you might recognize her from shows like “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” “Bel-Air,” and “Running Point” – shared the sweetest tribute on Instagram, saying her mom was simply the kindest, most compassionate person she’d ever met. It’s just heartbreaking.
In a heartfelt tribute, Corman wrote that she owed everything good within herself to the person she was remembering, and expressed a wish for just one more day together.
