Ulrika Jonsson recently shared a new appearance, explaining she’d felt discouraged about her skin after years of sun damage.
The 58-year-old TV personality admitted she’s focusing more on skincare not to try and look younger, but to build a healthier relationship with her skin.
Ulrika shared stunning selfies on Instagram Monday, showing off the results of her recent beauty treatment.
She explained in her post that she’d stopped taking care of her skin until recently. For years, she’d accepted the damage from sun exposure, thinking there was no way to fix it.
The presenter explained she had been receiving treatments at a clinic to improve her skin’s appearance.
She explained it wasn’t about trying to relive the past, but rather the beginning of a connection built on mutual support and understanding what to realistically expect.
I truly embrace my laughter lines and wrinkles. They’re a beautiful reminder of the life I’ve experienced.
The woman with blonde hair said she knew it wouldn’t be an instant fix, and she’s confident in her new skincare routine and healthier lifestyle choices.
Honestly, I’m absolutely loving my skin lately! It’s such a great feeling to look in the mirror and actually be thrilled with what I see. It’s a total confidence booster, and I wanted to share how amazing it feels to finally feel good in my own skin.
It’s important to remember that getting older is a natural part of life, and actually, something to be grateful for. Ultimately, how we choose to live as we age is up to each of us.
The star has been receiving medical treatments lately, including a recent procedure to remove her varicose veins, which she discussed last month.
She shared photos from her hospital stay on social media, posting pictures of herself in a gown and describing the treatment as painful and unpleasant, joking that it wasn’t glamorous.
The woman with blonde hair shared in a post that she’d been dealing with bleeding and discomfort from her surgical socks, but the procedure was ultimately successful.
Ulrika explained that she needed to rest for the next eight days after the procedure. This was her third time undergoing it.
Following a suggestion from my therapist to try new things, I scheduled an appointment to treat my varicose veins.
I’ve been doing this work for a long time – this was my third and last time. It’s been 21 years since my last visit. They’ve updated their methods; now, in addition to removing the animals, they also use heat and foam treatments on them.
The whole thing was really complicated, but thankfully it worked! Honestly, even with my legs squeezed tight in those awful surgical stockings and feeling like I was leaking everywhere, getting a simple cheese and ham toastie made for me felt like a little slice of heaven. It was such a comforting treat after everything.
It’s not pleasant, and definitely not glamorous, but I’m so thankful for my wonderful doctor, Mr. Northeast.
Back in October, I had a procedure to try and reduce blood flow to my legs. They accessed a vein in my neck while I was awake and guided a wire down to my pelvis to block the veins supplying my legs. I actually had this done once before, 21 years ago – it’s a pretty unusual treatment!
For the next eight days, I’ll be recovering – basically trying to rest with these uncomfortable compression stockings. But honestly, that’s probably not going to happen! Please send positive energy and treats my way.
Varicose veins are treated by closing off or removing the unhealthy veins. Common, less invasive procedures include radiofrequency or laser ablation, which use heat to seal the veins, and sclerotherapy, where a foam solution is injected to make them collapse.
For more serious problems, traditional surgery involves completely removing the affected vein through small incisions. Another option, phlebectomy, uses even tinier cuts to remove veins closer to the skin’s surface.
The most effective treatment varies based on the size of the vein and the patient’s symptoms. Ulrika didn’t share details about the specific treatment she received.
