Yellowstone’s Kelsey Asbille glams up for Paris Fashion Week in first sighting since character was killed off

Kelsey Asbille, known for her role in Yellowstone, looked stunning at the Rabanne women’s fashion show during Paris Fashion Week last Thursday.

The 34-year-old actress made her first public appearance after her character, Monica Long Dutton, was unexpectedly killed off on the CBS show Marshals.

Asbille Chow sat in the front row with singer Ravyn Lenae and actress Johnny Sequoyah to see the new collection from the fashion brand, now known as simply Rabanne.

The South Carolina woman accessorized with a silver fringed handbag and wore a grey blazer and knee-length skirt—both part of the collection—along with black patent leather pumps.

I was so excited to see Asbille post on Instagram again after a month! She shared a picture of her amazing Rabanne outfit on Saturday, and it was great to see all of us – her 540,000 followers – flooding the comments with support.

Honestly, I was so shocked by how they just got rid of Monica on the new show! I saw @therealsheilamae20 say it online, and I completely agree – it just doesn’t make any sense to me.

I really loved Kayce and Monica’s relationship and I’m disappointed not to see Monica in the show [Marshals]. It’s upsetting how the show handled her character.

Instagram user @m4v3r1k commented with a crying emoji and wrote: ‘We miss Monica.’

Instagram user @robert_zee58 wrote: ‘Was really hoping to see you on Marshals.’

Instagram user @ogyogimaster expressed disappointment that your character was written off during the first episode of ‘Marshals,’ writing, ‘So sad your character has left.’

‘Have a good relaxing weekend.’

The first episode of the $52 million sequel reveals that Monica passed away from cancer caused by government-dumped toxins on the land.

The character from the Broken Rock Tribe has often sparked debate among viewers during her five seasons on the Paramount Network’s western series (2018–2024), with some criticizing her for being overbearing and hindering the progress of Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes).

Last week, Spencer Hudnut, the creator of ‘Marshals,’ questioned to TV Insider, ‘Are we really going to do a show centered around a genuinely happy person?’

‘We had to shake up his life, to get him off the ranch and into a new position.’

The show’s creator explained that Kayce will keep visiting Monica’s gravesite on his land, as he feels her presence with him during his time as a Marshal. He described the location as a deeply meaningful place.

Hudnut and Grimes don’t plan on having Kayce fall in love again quickly, feeling it would be a disservice to his previous relationship.

The CBS show Marshals, which airs on Sundays, isn’t getting great reviews. Critics give it a 47% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and viewers seem even less impressed, with a score of just 38%.

I’ve become really close friends with Kelsey. She’s the most easygoing and talented actor I’ve ever collaborated with. She’s genuinely kind and treats everyone – the other actors and the crew – with respect and warmth, according to the 42-year-old producer and star.

I finally called her, feeling a little nervous about how she’d react. I really needed to check in and see how she was doing. Thankfully, we had a wonderful conversation. As expected, Kelsey took it all in stride and was completely understanding.

She’s incredibly capable and has a bright future. She’s talented, beautiful, and a wonderful person, and she’s definitely ready to work hard – in fact, she’s already motivated!

Asbille has already finished filming her next project, an independent romantic comedy called Adulting, directed by Harris Gurny. The film centers on a recent college graduate who is very close to her mother and trying to navigate the dating scene in New York City.

The actress, who is half-Chinese, is also appearing in a mysterious role in Brian McGreevy’s new psychological thriller, The Technique, which stars Noomi Rapace, Ben Platt, Emma Roberts, Laura Harrier, and Nicholas Alexander.
