Raye leaves fans in hysterics as she installs a ‘heartbreak’ plaque on her ex-boyfriend’s favourite pub ‘so he’ll never forget’

Raye has shared a very public tribute to her past heartbreak in a hilarious TikTok video.

The singer of “Where Is My Husband” shared a video online revealing a blue plaque dedicated to her at The Nightingale pub, located on Nightingale Lane in South London.

A blue plaque – typically used in the UK to mark a link between a place and a notable person – has been installed at a location connected to RAYE. It states that she experienced her greatest heartbreak there on February 27, 2019.

In the video, a visibly cheerful celebrity, wearing a fur coat and carrying a Chanel bag, holds a pint of beer while playfully indicating a sign. The sign’s message reads: ‘put a nice plaque on my ex’s favorite pub so he’ll never forget.’

She playfully announced she’s entering a ‘dramatic era’ and shared a clip of her new song as a backdrop to the video.

Fans loved the news, and singer-songwriter Absolutely joked that dating a songwriter – especially a really famous one – is tough!

Raye’s latest single, Nightingale Lane, is a heartfelt tribute to the street where she spent her childhood in Tooting. It’s featured on her upcoming album, This Music May Contain Hope, and begins with a powerful statement: ‘This is a song about the greatest heartbreak I have ever known.’

Raye’s song captures the heartache of a first breakup, vividly describing the moment she said goodbye. She sings about watching her former love walk away in the rain, on Old Park Avenue in June, perfectly illustrating the pain of the experience.

Raye hasn’t named the ‘first love’ and is known for keeping her love life private.

In a recent Vogue interview for their September 2025 issue, she opened up about the pain of her past breakup, revealing she’s been single for two years and feels it’s been a long time.

She confessed that her last really painful breakup happened four or five years ago. She’d been so sure about him, saying, ‘I thought I was going to marry him.’

We were together for two years, but things didn’t work out. I’ve never felt so devastated.

Honestly, it wrecked me. It took years – three, maybe four – to even start feeling normal again after he was gone. It was just… devastating. And now? I’ve basically decided I can’t risk falling for anyone else until I’m absolutely certain it’s safe. I just… I can’t go through that again.

As someone who’s thought a lot about relationships, I can tell you my ‘type’ has definitely evolved! What I look for in a partner now is very different than what I used to prioritize. It’s funny how your perspective shifts over time, isn’t it?

The singer shared very personal stories about surviving sexual assault and battling addiction on her first album, ‘My 21st Century Blues’.

Her latest album, featuring the chart-topping hit “Where Is My Husband,” comes out on March 27th.
