The new crime thriller Gone, starring Eve Myles and David Morrissey, is already gripping viewers with its complex mystery. The six-episode drama revolves around the disappearance of Michael Polly’s wife, and focuses on detective Annie Cassidy (Myles) as she investigates. She quickly believes something isn’t right, and soon Michael himself becomes a suspect.
Did Sarah’s husband cause her to vanish, or is Detective Cassidy focusing on the wrong suspect? That’s just one of the puzzles in George Kay’s (creator of The Long Shadow) new series.
Rory Bowman, the deputy head of the exclusive private school led by Michael, initially seems quiet and unremarkable. He might have gone unnoticed in the first episode if he hadn’t been so eager – even pushy – to impress headmaster Polly. He quickly tells Michael, as he leaves the room after announcing Sarah’s disappearance, “Well done, Mike.” It’s a curious detail – the way he uses the familiar “Mike,” considering how formal he usually appears.

No one really acknowledged what he said, but Rory’s final glance hinted that his words meant something deeper than just being polite. Regardless, it gave the audience a good look at this obviously flattering character, and made us wonder not only what he was up to, but also where we recognized him from.
If you’re wondering where you recognize the actor Rory Bowman from, here’s a list of previous roles he’s played.

Who is Gone’s Rory Bowman and where have I seen him before?
If Rory’s face reminded you of a swarm of bees, that’s understandable! Rory Bowman, who also goes by Rupert Evans, actually plays Edmund Bridgerton in the show Bridgerton.
What to Read Next
Even though the character is important and memorable in the historical romance, it makes sense if you didn’t immediately recognize him. Edmund dies early in the series and only appears in memories and flashbacks – though you might spot him in a painting now and then.

Though he is gone, he’s fondly remembered by his wife and children, who often speak of him and let his values guide their choices.
If you’re getting a sense of déjà vu and thinking you recognize him from something else, you’re probably right! I remember seeing him in the newer version of Charmed – you know, the reboot of the classic show with Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowan. That’s where I first noticed him!

In the 2018 version of ‘Charmed’, Evan played Harry Greenwood, a character similar to the original series’ Leo Wyatt. Like Leo, Harry is a Whitelighter—a guardian angel—and he develops a romantic relationship with one of the sisters, Macy Vaughn.
Evans’ catalog also, more recently includes the mini series Truth and Treason and a stint in Lynley.
The new series, Gone, starts on Sunday, March 8th at 9pm, with the second episode following on Monday, March 9th. After that, new episodes will air every Sunday and Monday. You can watch all episodes right now on ITVX.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-color 100-page magazine dedicated to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
