Rosanna Arquette has revealed the price she paid for rejecting Harvey Weinstein.
Uma Thurman, age 66, played a small but notable part in the popular 1994 film Pulp Fiction. She was Lance’s wife, and Eric Stoltz played Lance.
Quentin Tarantino wrote and directed the film. Harvey Weinstein, now 73 and in prison for 16 years for rape, was a producer on the project.
Despite a small $8 million budget, Pulp Fiction was a huge hit with both critics and audiences, ultimately earning over $213.9 million around the world.
Even though the movie was a hit, Arquette feels disappointed because she wasn’t given a share of the money it made in theaters.
She told The Times that everyone else profited from the deal, but she didn’t receive any money. “I was the only one who didn’t get a share,” she said.
She isn’t upset with Quentin, since he was the one who supported her being cast in the film. Instead, she believes the producer, Harvey, is responsible.
In the early 1990s, the actress said she went to meet Harvey about a script.
I can barely talk about it, it’s so awful. She said she went to see him at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and they sent her right up to his room. He was just…there, in a bathrobe. And she told me he tried to make her touch him, you know…down there. It was a complete violation, and I’m just sick thinking about it. It’s absolutely horrifying what he did to her.
She told the publication: ‘I was fortunate because I was not raped.
It was a difficult path, and I faced consequences both for refusing something and later for being honest about it.
In 2017, Arquette was one of the first women to publicly accuse Harvey of misconduct, joining Mira Sorvino and Annabella Sciorra in speaking out.
Harvey Weinstein was once a powerful figure in Hollywood, but in 2017, reports of sexual misconduct allegations against him led to him becoming a symbol of that behavior.
Around sixty women accused the producer of serious sexual offenses, and he was found guilty of multiple crimes in both New York and California.
He’s currently in prison, serving a 16-year sentence for a rape conviction in California. He also faces another rape charge from a 2025 New York case and is scheduled for a trial in Manhattan later this year to resolve it.
He’s currently facing several serious health challenges, including cancer, diabetes, a narrowing of his spinal canal, and a potential issue with his immune system.
This year, Rosanna will be back on screen in Charli XCX’s new film, a fake documentary called The Moment.
It sees Charli XCX, 33, play a fictionalised version of herself, based on a story by the singer.
Joining the singer, known as Charli XCX, in the project are Rosanna, Jamie Demetriou, and Alexander Skarsgård, all portraying made-up characters.
Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the movie blends actual concert footage from Charli’s Brat tour with fictional scenes showing what happened behind the scenes.
The film was released in the UK and Ireland on February 20.
