Andy Carroll has been spotted publicly for the first time after entering a not guilty plea regarding allegations of violating a restraining order.
Former soccer players from Newcastle and Liverpool are facing allegations of repeatedly contacting their ex-wife, Billi Mucklow, who is a reality TV personality.
Andy seemed cheerful alongside influencer KSI as they both watched the Dagenham and Redbridge game in the National League South at Chigwell Construction Stadium on Saturday.
KSI’s first game as a co-owner of Dagenham and Redbridge ended in victory, with the team winning 1-0 against Dorking Wanderers on Saturday.
Okay, so I’m hearing that Andy has officially pleaded not guilty to violating a restraining order. It looks like this is headed to court, and his trial is scheduled for next year. It’s a tough situation, and we’ll have to see how it unfolds.
The court scheduled his trial to begin on January 18, 2027, during a hearing on Tuesday, and he officially stated his plea on Wednesday.
Andy missed Tuesday’s hearing because his representatives thought it was scheduled for Wednesday.
Because of this, the judge postponed the defendant’s initial court appearance by a day, and today the defendant pleaded not guilty.
The 37-year-old appeared at Wednesday’s hearing via video call, dressed in a plaid shirt and seemingly inside a parked vehicle.
He’s accused of violating a court order from Chelmsford Justice Centre by repeatedly calling his former wife in March of last year for no good reason.
He answered ‘yes’ to confirm his name and said ‘not guilty’ when asked for his plea.
According to prosecutor Philippa Page, a scheduling error caused Andy and his lawyers to miss yesterday’s plea and trial preparation hearing.
Following his formal plea, Judge Mary Loram KC announced the trial would be held on January 18th of next year.
Andy currently plays for Dagenham & Redbridge. He also represented England nine times between 2010 and 2012, scoring two goals, one of which was at Euro 2012.
He started his career at Newcastle United, then moved to Liverpool in 2011 for £35 million. He also played for teams like West Ham, Reading, and West Brom throughout his career.
The judge granted Andy bail and at the end of the hearing he said ‘thank you, thanks’.
