Tragedy of Emma Watson’s billionaire boyfriend: Model died in mysterious circumstances on his grandfather’s $190million superyacht

We’ve learned that a tragedy struck the family of Emma Watson’s new boyfriend when a 20-year-old model died unexpectedly while on their $190 million yacht. The circumstances surrounding her death are unclear.

Emma Watson, 35, known for her role in the Harry Potter films, is reportedly dating Gonzalo Hevia Baillères, a wealthy businessman. The pair were spotted sharing a kiss at an airport in Mexico earlier this week.

Gonzalo, often called Mexico’s most desirable bachelor, is reportedly head over heels for Watson and has already met her parents, according to the Daily Mail.

Recently, the Baillères family has faced scrutiny due to their connection with the unresolved death of Instagram model and influencer Sinead McNamara.

In August 2018, a tragic event occurred aboard the Mayan Queen IV, a 300-foot luxury yacht owned by the Baillères family. At the time, Miss McNamara was working as a member of the crew.

She was discovered caught in a rope on the rear of the family’s large yacht and tragically died from strangulation shortly after.

A 20-year-old woman with four months of boating experience died soon after a heated argument with another person while the boat was docked on the Greek island of Kefalonia.

The captain of a nearby superyacht discovered her and attempted CPR. She was airlifted to a hospital in Athens, but unfortunately passed away during the flight.

The coroner determined that Miss McNamara died by suicide, specifically by hanging. However, many people disagree with this conclusion due to lingering questions and uncertainties surrounding her death.

In 2020, the coroner, Ilias Bogiokas, stated that questions remained about the death of Miss McNamara because important video footage, reportedly filmed just before the hanging, was never given to investigators.

Reports indicated that despite Ms. McNamara telling someone she’d had a fight with another person on the yacht the day she died, the authorities didn’t check the boat before it sailed away.

And the coroner never received footage showing Ms McNamara moments before her death.

Gonzalo’s grandfather, Albert Baillères – a billionaire who owned the yacht and passed away in 2022 – wasn’t on board when she died. He reportedly traveled to Mexico two days earlier.

Gonzalo’s grandfather, known as the ‘King of Silver’ because of his successful mining business, passed away at the age of 90. He left his considerable wealth to Gonzalo’s father, Alejandro.

Aljendro now leads Grupo Bal, his family’s massive and influential company, one of the biggest in Mexico.

The family is reportedly very involved in Gonzalo’s romantic life, even to the point of pressuring him to end a past relationship because of who they thought he should marry.

He dated Spanish singer Belinda Peregrín for a year, but they broke up two years ago.

According to insiders, the breakup happened after the Baillères family expressed their disapproval of his girlfriend, Belinda, and hinted that continuing the relationship could impact his inheritance.

We’ve learned that Baillères was romantically linked to Belinda, a popular actress and singer originally from Spain but now a citizen of Mexico.

The couple dated for around a year, but their relationship ended suddenly in 2024. Sources say the breakup was hard on the singer.

Gonzalo’s family reportedly threatened to disinherit him because they didn’t approve of his relationship with Belinda.

According to journalist Jorge Carbajal, Belinda’s family strongly disapproved of her relationship. They’d heard rumors that she financially ruined her past boyfriends and warned her that continuing the relationship would result in being cut out of the family inheritance, reportedly saying, “If you continue with that woman, we’ll disinherit you.”

Gonzalo is the CEO of HBeyond, a New York-based investment firm. Before that, he built a smart locker network throughout Latin America, which is now valued at $115 million.

He comes from a wealthy family that owns a major mining company and El Palacio de Hierro, a luxury department store similar to Harrods.

The Baillères family owns extensive property, including several large homes and ranches in Mexico, such as a $20 million estate in the upscale Polanco district of Mexico City. They also have international holdings, like a 65,000-hectare wildlife reserve in Namibia.

The superyacht drew attention once more following the tragic migrant boat disaster near Greece in June 2023, where a vessel carrying around 700 people capsized in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Mayan Queen IV, a ship carrying 16 passengers and 24 crew members, rescued 100 migrants and brought them aboard.

Neither Emma nor Gonzalo has publicly commented on their relationship.
