Former Strictly Come Dancing star Toyah Wilcox, 67, reveals she is selling her old worn bras for as little as £20

I’m a huge Toyah Wilcox fan, and you won’t believe this! She’s selling some of her old bras – seriously! – on Instagram, and they’re starting at just £20. It’s a bit unexpected, but I’m definitely checking it out!

The 67-year-old singer-songwriter didn’t last long on Strictly Come Dancing in 2024, being eliminated during the second week of the competition.

She’s decided to sell her used performance clothes, like bras and shoes.

The dancer partnered with Lovelys Vintage and shared a preview of their upcoming collection on social media.

She said: ‘So for the past two years I’ve been touring, and those are the bras from the stage show.

I almost tossed those items, but then I realized someone, somewhere, could really use them – even if they weren’t in the best shape. It felt wasteful to just throw them away when they still had potential, so I decided to find them a new home.

She was referring to the bras, not the audience, saying they’d been damaged from repeated washing during the tour, and her assistant was laughing at the observation.

The Lovelys Vintage employee double-checked: “So, you’re sure you want me to sell your bras?”

Toyah suggested either discarding the items and letting people know which bin they were in, or simply letting anyone who wanted them come and collect them.

Toyah is selling a variety of items on her online store, Toyah’s Wardrobe, including some of her older white bras, as well as dresses, jackets, handbags, and shiny shoes.

The post was captioned: ‘Brace yourselves… too much fun!

‘Join us tonight at 7pm where I [sold] the final pieces from her wardrobe (24.2.26).’

Although a lot of the items the celebrity listed are already marked as ‘sold out’ with green stickers, there are still a few left you can buy.

Toyah has said she turned down two potential dance partners for Strictly Come Dancing because she felt they were too young for her before agreeing to be on the show.

She explained to the Daily Mail that show executives wanted to match her with 32-year-old Vito Coppola, who is 34 years younger than her, but she turned down the idea due to their significant age difference.

Toyah explained in a recent interview that she didn’t feel comfortable performing close-up routines with a much younger partner. This is why she turned down the opportunity to dance with 26-year-old Nikita Kuzmin, citing their significant 40-year age gap.

Toyah expressed strong disapproval of anyone getting too close to her, specifically stating she didn’t want someone young near her private area. Sarah Hadland, her co-star and a competitor on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, agreed with this sentiment.

I was absolutely thrilled when my musical hero, the punk icon famous for ‘Thunder in the Mountains,’ decided to partner with Neil Jones on the show! I really thought they had potential, especially with Neil’s experience. Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be, and they were eliminated after just two weeks. I was gutted, but I’ll always remember seeing them perform together!

Toyah shared that she auditioned for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing back in May, describing the experience as ‘nerve-wracking.’ She also expressed her gratitude that Vito chose her as his first partner for the season.

Oh my gosh, my audition with Vito was incredible! He’s absolutely gorgeous and has so much energy. He instantly connected with me and kept saying, ‘This is The One, this is The One!’ It was so flattering, and I’m really thankful, but honestly, I was still a total wreck inside!

Honestly, the thought of dancing intimately with someone so much younger than me just felt…off. I’ve been really clear about wanting to partner with someone who matches my energy and physical style. When they suggested Nikita, I politely explained that it just wouldn’t work – the contrast would be too jarring and look awkward. It wasn’t personal, I just wanted a pairing that made sense visually and felt right for both of us.

I had faith in Neil because of his experience and shared way of thinking. Sarah Hadland and I both agreed we want to protect ourselves and young people from inappropriate physical contact – we want to maintain clear boundaries and ensure everyone’s safety.

I specifically asked the team to make sure everything was suitable for all ages, and they were great about it. Nikita is incredibly handsome, and honestly, I just didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable performing alongside someone much older than him. It was important to me that he felt good about the whole thing.
