While Casino Royale is now highly regarded, its sequel, Quantum of Solace, received only a lukewarm response. Though not a bad film, Quantum of Solace doesn’t measure up to the movies around it. Skyfall, however, is widely considered the best film of Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond, and one of the best Bond movies ever made.
The last two James Bond films starring Daniel Craig have split fans, though critics generally liked them. Spectre feels fairly typical for a Bond movie, while No Time to Die is known for taking big risks. However, those risks don’t always pay off, particularly when trying to please such a large and dedicated fanbase.
How To Watch Daniel Craig’s James Bond Movies
As a huge Daniel Craig Bond fan, I honestly think you need to see all five films to really appreciate his take on the character. But if you’re short on time, there’s one you absolutely can’t miss: Casino Royale. It’s the foundation for everything Bond goes through in the later movies and really shows you who he is. You could skip Quantum of Solace if you had to, though it does have some amazing action scenes that are worth checking out if you’re an action buff.
Skyfall is a must-see film. If you only have time for one movie from this series, make it Skyfall. Director Sam Mendes crafted a truly perfect film, from the opening song to its moving conclusion. Plus, it includes important scenes that connect to the following two movies.
While both Spectre and No Time to Die aren’t essential to watch, Spectre is easily the less important of the two. No Time to Die specifically aims to wrap up Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond with a conclusive ending. Whether it succeeds is up to each viewer, but it’s a key part of experiencing the complete story.
