ITV has announced that filming has started on the new version of the detective series Dalziel and Pascoe, which will star Kerry Godliman and Nina Singh.
The broadcaster announced the news on Instagram today, sharing a photo from behind the scenes with the show’s two main stars. The picture shows Godliman and Singh smiling and holding a clapperboard, celebrating their first day of filming.
The show first appeared on BBC television between 1996 and 2007, and it was adapted from the crime novels of Reginald Hill. It starred Warren Clarke and Colin Buchanan as an unusual pair of detectives, Andy Dalziel and Peter Pascoe.
The show, which was revealed earlier this year, is a modern take on a classic story and will feature Alex Horne from Taskmaster, playing Detective Inspector Andrea Dalziel, a detective with plenty of experience.

Singh, recently seen in the BBC series Virdee, will play Detective Sergeant Paige Pascoe, a meticulous and rule-following newcomer.
Dalziel and Pascoe are an unlikely crime-solving duo. Though they approach investigations differently, their partnership is strong, filled with humor, warmth, and genuine human connection.
The new version of the show is a collaborative effort, written by Colette Kane and Daisy Martey, along with additional writers. Isher Sahota directed the six episodes, and Juliet Charlesworth produced them.

Godliman described her character as complex and engaging. She’s successful and kind, but also very direct – sometimes even a bit harsh. The role is fulfilling because the character is both tired and deeply caring, offering a lot for Godliman to explore.
Man, I’m seriously honored to be playing Pascoe alongside Kerry Godliman as Dalziel! Kerry’s so funny, I already know I’m going to be cracking up during takes. The writing team, led by Colette Kane, has done an amazing job – they’ve woven humor into the scripts while still keeping all the twists and turns that make Dalziel and Pascoe so gripping. It really feels like the classic show!
ITV’s Dalziel and Pascoe has no release date.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour 100-page magazine dedicated to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
