Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Proved Everyone Who Doubted it Wrong
I’ve always loved how anime and video games work together – it’s given us some truly amazing stuff! I was really hyped for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, especially since it was connected to the Cyberpunk 2077 game. It’s a shame, though, because the game had a really rocky start with bugs and problems, and that unfortunately dampened a lot of the excitement for the anime, which was a bummer.
Viewers quickly discovered it’s unwise to underestimate Studio TRIGGER, who masterfully brought the world of Night City to life as a vibrant, neon-lit anime. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was originally created as a single season, but its surprising popularity and critical acclaim led to the unexpected announcement of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which is currently in development for a 2025 release.
