Rachel Zoe reveals why she’s dating ‘younger’ men following collapse of her 26-year marriage

Rachel Zoe is embracing single life – and having a little fun while she’s at it.

Fashion designer and reality TV star, 54, has been talking about dating again after her 26-year marriage to Rodger Berman ended. She revealed she’s been seeing men who are younger than her.

Zoe officially started divorce proceedings in July 2025, almost a year after she and her partner announced their separation. They had been together for 33 years, and married for 29.

They also share two sons – Skyler, 14, and Kaius, 12.

Now stepping back into the dating world, Zoe admitted she’s keeping things light – and younger.

The fashion icon recently shared that she’s enjoying dating again, calling it ‘really fun.’ She also mentioned that she often dates younger men, in a new interview with Interview magazine.

She explained that she doesn’t need a partner in the conventional sense. She’s financially and socially secure, and she has her children. Ultimately, she wants to simply enjoy life.

Zoe also revealed the kind of men currently catching her eye.

I’m enjoying spending time with younger men. They’re generally creative, full of energy, and have a real depth to them – people I genuinely connect with.

Although she’s not currently seeking a conventional relationship, the reality TV personality hasn’t completely dismissed the possibility of getting married in the future.

Reflecting on her long relationship with Berman, Zoe insisted she has no regrets.

‘We were married for 26 years and I can’t have any regrets because we had a great love story.’

Elsewhere in the interview, Zoe also shared her broader thoughts on men.

I’m incredibly lucky to come from a family of amazing men – from my grandfathers all the way to my children and nephew. I think all men, deep down, retain a bit of a childlike quality. It’s not a criticism, but they often have a tendency to avoid fully growing up, a bit like Peter Pan.

Despite the breakup, Zoe made clear that her two sons remain her top priority.

The reality TV star shared that becoming a parent to Skyler and Kaius will be the most fulfilling thing she ever does, calling her sons ‘earth angels’.

Zoe’s open discussion of her divorce is happening while she’s also sharing her experiences on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The fashion designer recently shared the story of how Berman proposed to her very soon after she confessed to a past mistake – having a brief encounter with a model early in their relationship.

Zoe told Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley while they were having dinner in the Hamptons that the event occurred after she had been with Berman for four years.

The fashion industry leader called the model breathtaking, saying she was the most beautiful person they’d ever seen. They explained the reason for their statement was simply feeling remorseful.

She confessed she had a casual encounter with someone, and incredibly, he proposed to her the very next day. She insisted she was telling the truth.

But Zoe also revealed the moment that ultimately led to the end of their decades-long marriage.

She explained that after whatever caused the injury, she immediately collapsed. She only remembers being on the ground afterward.

The star said the couple had gotten into ‘a big fight.’

When her colleagues asked her how she found out about Berman’s actions, she answered plainly: ‘He told me himself.’

Zoe remembered getting home from designer Brian Atwood’s birthday party when she received a phone call from Berman, who was in Aspen at the time.

I was so angry I immediately ended the call. Over the years, people often ask me what’s made us successful, and my first answer is always trust. But once that trust is gone, it’s impossible to rebuild.

She explained that, throughout their marriage, she never once checked her husband’s phone. She hadn’t even considered it, let alone talked about or thought about doing so.

Zoe said some people have asked whether Berman confessed ‘because he wanted to hurt’ her.

‘You don’t think he told you because he felt guilty?’ Kemsley asked.

I trust him completely – he’s never been dishonest with me. But I also think he’s testing me, trying to see if I still care about him at all. My problem is, once you know something like this, you can’t take it back. I can’t pretend I didn’t hear or see what happened, and I can’t just forget about it.

Zoe described Berman as someone who was confident and stable, but acknowledged that their relationship had deteriorated over the final six or seven years of their marriage.

He was incredibly confident and didn’t seem bothered by the attention his wife received. People often questioned him about how he allowed her to work so closely with famous and attractive male celebrities and models, especially with all the advances she likely faced. He’d simply say that if someone was interested, he wouldn’t stand in her way. His trust in her – and her loyalty to him – meant there were no issues, as I never betrayed him.

Zoe explained that she and guys would playfully flirt with each other, but she maintained it didn’t mean anything serious.
