Daisy Edgar-Jones opens up for the first time about her debilitating battle with endometriosis – and how she has learned to manage the painful condition over the years

Daisy Edgar-Jones recently revealed she’s been dealing with endometriosis, a very painful condition, and has discovered ways to cope with it over time.

I was so touched to learn that the actress, who’s only 27, has been dealing with this condition since she was 24. She opened up about it in a really personal way, sharing her diagnosis while walking fans through her makeup routine in a new video she did with Vogue. It was so brave of her to share something so personal!

Daisy shared that she dealt with really bad acne as a teenager and also had painful periods for a long time before finally finding out what was causing them.

She explained that she has endometriosis, which causes hormonal imbalances. Because of this, she struggled with severe acne throughout her teenage years.

I used to be so self-conscious about my skin. When my acne was really bad, it felt like all I could focus on when I looked in the mirror. Plus, I struggled with painful and unpredictable skin issues for a long time.

I received my diagnosis around age 24, and honestly, it was a relief to finally understand what was happening.

Endometriosis is a long-term health issue that can cause pain. It happens when tissue like the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus, often on organs like the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

This condition can lead to inflammation and scarring, causing significant symptoms like intense menstrual cramps, difficulty getting pregnant, and long-lasting pain in the pelvic area.

According to the NHS, the condition affects an estimated two million women in the UK. 

Daisy has discovered a skincare routine that suits her, and she’s also seen positive changes by making adjustments to what she eats.

She said: ‘I’ve found over the years skincare that really works for me.

I’ve noticed I feel much better when I drink plenty of water and eat a healthy diet, particularly when I limit dairy.

The actress also shared an encouraging message for others struggling with acne. 

She said: ‘When I had terrible acne, it was all I could see when I looked in the mirror.

Looking back at pictures and videos, it’s actually quite funny how much of your beauty comes from within. And the confidence you show really makes a difference.

If you’re dealing with acne, remember it feels like it’s all anyone notices, but others don’t focus on it as much as you think.

This follows Daisy’s recent public outing with her boyfriend, photographer Ben Seed, at a London event hosted by Krug & Max Richter last month.

This couple prefers to keep their relationship private and doesn’t often discuss each other publicly, including in interviews.

Ben has been in the spotlight before when it comes to relationships, as he previously dated actress Anya Taylor-Joy, known for her role in The Queen’s Gambit.

He split up with Anya ahead of her beating Daisy to the best actress at the Golden Globes in 2021.

Meanwhile, Daisy split from her ex-boyfriend Tom Varey in late 2020 after two years of dating.

Daisy is said to be on ‘cloud nine’ with Ben, who also goes by the artist name Pip.

According to a source, Daisy and Pip started dating earlier in the year and have been very close ever since.

Both of them enjoyed having some free time this summer and loved spending it together at the bars in Broadway Market, East London.

They have a strong connection and are really happy to have met. They’ve already gotten to know each other’s friends, and she’s absolutely thrilled.
