Carolyn Bessette scene in Love Story ripped apart by Annette Bening as Kennedy family torches show

Annette Bening has clarified that the depiction of her in the new Ryan Murphy series, ‘Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette,’ is inaccurate.

A memorable moment in the show features Bessette, played by Sarah Pidgeon, giving Bening, portrayed by Megan Channell, a makeover while they’re both working at Calvin Klein with Alessandro Nivola.

She was preparing for the premiere of ‘Bugsy,’ a famous gangster film from 1991, in which she starred with Warren Beatty, who she would soon marry.

Annette Bening, 67, recently revealed on Good Morning America that the story depicted in the show didn’t actually happen in real life.

She said she was pleased by Channell’s work and acknowledged she had met Bessette when Bessette was working at Calvin Klein.

Bening also noted an inaccuracy in how the show depicted her. She was actually nine months pregnant with her son, Stephen, with Warren Beatty when she went to the Los Angeles premiere of Bugsy in December 1991.

I’d been hearing whispers about this for a while – lots of people were talking about it – so I decided to see what was going on firsthand. I shared this with Good Morning America, recalling the moment I tuned in.

I was really charmed by the actress and thought she was amazing. However, any connection we might have had was purely in my imagination. I did meet Carolyn Bessette Kennedy once while working at Calvin Klein, but nothing romantic ever happened between us.

Actually, it wasn’t me at that event. It was meant to be the premiere of ‘Bugsy,’ and I was nine months pregnant at the time, so it couldn’t have been me.

Ten years ago, Kris Jenner shared that the way she was depicted in Ryan Murphy’s ‘The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story’ wasn’t entirely accurate, and she’s now speaking out about similar issues with ‘The Kardashians’.

As a longtime fan, I remember being really struck by Selma Blair’s portrayal of Jenner. It was so powerful to see her at Nicole Brown Simpson’s funeral, especially knowing the whole complicated story with OJ and his trial. It really highlighted the tragedy of the situation and the impact it had on everyone involved.

Following the broadcast of the episode, Jenner clarified that the way the event was shown wasn’t accurate. She explained she was actually pregnant with her daughter, Kendall, during the funeral.

John F. Kennedy Jr.’s nephew, Jack Schlossberg – Caroline Kennedy’s son and the last surviving grandchild of John and Jackie Kennedy – has continued to criticize the new show, calling it ‘grotesque’.

According to 33-year-old congressional candidate Schlossberg, Ryan Murphy is completely unfamiliar with his family and background. ‘If you want an unbiased opinion, talk to him,’ Schlossberg stated, while competing to fill the seat being vacated by Jerry Nadler in New York.

The show’s creator, Holden, told Mo Rocca on CBS Mornings that he hopes viewers remember it’s a work of fiction. He wants people to watch with that understanding – that it’s not based on reality.

He’s upset that this person is profiting from exploiting someone else’s life story, and doesn’t seem to have any real understanding of the situation.

Honestly, I was really disappointed with how things went with the show. Schlossberg strongly urged Murphy to donate the profits to charities John Kennedy supported, or even to the JFK Library to preserve his legacy. But Murphy just seems focused on making money from it, and Schlossberg made it clear this isn’t a genuine attempt to honor Kennedy’s life – he just stopped talking after that, and I understand why.

I was so impressed last year when Murphy shared some early looks at the show! But then Schlossberg chimed in with a comment suggesting Murphy donate any profits to the Kennedy Library. Murphy immediately agreed, which was fantastic to see – a really classy move, honestly. It made me feel even better about supporting the project.
