“Gem” of a period drama about Victorian London private investigator will end with one last season

The popular period drama Miss Scarlet, praised by one IMDb user as a “hidden treasure,” will return for a seventh and final season. The show, which premiered on PBS in 2020, stars Kate Phillips as Eliza Scarlet, a resourceful private investigator.

Eliza takes over her father’s detective agency in London and works to prove herself in a profession dominated by men, teaming up with Detective Inspector William ‘The Duke’ Wellington (Stuart Martin) along the way.

After the surprising events at the end of season six, the show will conclude with a seventh and final season.

Speaking about the move, Phillips said: “What a journey this has been.

Playing Miss Scarlet has been a highlight of my career, and I’m incredibly thankful to Rachael New for writing such a funny, clever, and charming character in Eliza.

The seventh season will feature six episodes, with a release date yet to be announced.
