Samie Elishi, the winner of Love Island All Stars, revealed she purposely avoided speaking to Lucinda for five days. This came after accusations of bullying, and Samie also admitted she temporarily left the show, with those moments not being broadcast.
The latest season of the show recently finished, and Maya Jama revealed that Samie and Ciaran Davies were the winning pair.
Millie Court and Zac Woodworth, Scott van-der-Sluis and Leanne Amaning, Lucinda Strafford and Sean Stone, and Whitney Adebayo and Yamen Sanders were also among the finalists.
The show received thousands of complaints to Ofcom about alleged bullying, specifically regarding how Lucinda was treated after disagreements with Belle Hassan, Samie, and Jessy Potts.
Samie recently revealed in an interview with Olivia Attwood on her podcast that she intentionally avoided interacting with the TikTok star while they were both in the villa.
She described a period where she completely ignored Lucinda for five days, even though they were sitting right next to each other in the dressing room and didn’t exchange a single word.
You know, I’ve often found that sometimes people think ignoring someone is easier, like it takes less effort. But honestly, it usually ends up being draining! That’s what Samie realized – it was actually more exhausting to keep up the cold shoulder, so she decided it was better to just be polite and friendly.
Later in the podcast, Samie admitted she became frustrated during Movie Night. She explained that she briefly left the group and needed some time alone in the villa to collect herself.
During movie night, Samie and Lucinda had a disagreement. Lucinda yelled at Samie after Samie tried to explain why she had thrown a pie at her weeks before.
I noticed Samie getting increasingly frustrated with Lucinda – she was really starting to lose her cool. The other girls even told her to calm down, using that phrase ‘dead it’ which basically means ‘chill out’ or ‘stop it’.
She recently shared that things got even more stressful during unaired portions of Movie Night, explaining to Olivia that she had to briefly leave to regain her composure. She described the experience as ‘very hard’.
With all the contestants back in the UK, Lucinda has confirmed she believes she was bullied by the other women on the show.
Lucinda recently told Paul C. Brunson on his “We Need To Talk” podcast how lonely she felt with the other women in the villa.
She said she would immediately ask Samie to move anything that came within just a couple of inches of her makeup bag, even if it was just onto Samie’s desk.
Lucinda explained that she became accustomed to Samie ignoring her. They were often getting ready side-by-side, with their makeup tables close together. Lucinda even described a situation where Samie asked her to move her makeup bag, which was only a couple of inches away.
She then clarified this was the only time they would speak.
The two fell out when Lucinda picked Ciaran to couple up with after she arrived as a bombshell.
Tensions only worsened during a game of Snog, Marry, Pie, when Lucinda chose to pie Samie.
During one show, Lucinda became very upset and left crying after a major argument, prompting the host, Maya, to intervene and offer comfort. This incident led to over 8,500 viewer complaints in a single night.
Okay, so Whitney asked Lucinda if she thought people were being mean to her, like, bullying her, and Lucinda totally shut it down! She said everything was fine, she wasn’t being bullied at all. I just need to know what’s really going on, though… she seemed a little off, honestly.
When Paul asked Lucinda if she felt she’d been bullied on the show, she explained that while talking to Maya, she truly felt isolated and only had Sean to turn to.
I didn’t feel like I had any friends in there, except for Sean. He was the only person I felt close to.
That night, I just went to bed. I didn’t feel like speaking with anyone. When I woke up the next morning, I realized I was completely alone, and it wasn’t a good feeling.
I recall going outside and breaking down in tears, completely alone. However, that moment wasn’t included in the final cut because it happened just outside the front door.
Lucinda praised the production team for taking good care of her, but she admitted feeling isolated and avoided the girls’ dressing room, believing she wasn’t well-liked.
She added that it hurts now to watch the clip of Belle imitating her walk.
Lucinda explained that people wouldn’t confront her directly, and they hadn’t in the past. Instead, they chose to say things when she was leaving or turning her back.
I’ve definitely seen that video online, and it’s really upsetting. I think that was the turning point – things were just spiraling out of control at that moment.
I’m not sure what others noticed, but I often found myself alone with my thoughts.
