In Where Winds Meet, you’ll encounter a cast of memorable characters who give you quests to learn more about the world and earn special rewards. Some of these characters are adorable creatures like the Momo Kitty, who will challenge you with puzzles in exchange for unique gifts.
The game features a variety of puzzles, like gathering glowing orbs or shooting bells. Finding these puzzles around the Jade Gate Pass area offers a lighthearted break from the main story.
Jade Gate Pass Momo Kitty Locations

Momo Kitties are a lot like the Meow Meow cats you’ve encountered before in Where Winds Meet. These smartly dressed cats are waiting in the desert and will reward you with gifts for solving their puzzles and completing challenges. You’ll find several different puzzle types in the Jade Gate Pass, and they’re listed below to help you out.
| Puzzle | Map | Location | Description |
| Ring the Bell to Pray |
|
Travel to the Camel Station Boundary Stone and head West. The Momo Kitty will be on the roof of the building, which also has a cat to pet on its balcony. |
To complete this puzzle, read the stone tablet next to the Momo Kitty and strike the cat-shaped bells in this order: 3, 1, 4, 2. Stand with the Momo Kitty and face the bells from this direction, or the order will be wrong. |
| Ring the Bell to Pray |
|
Travel to the Poplar Bazaar Boundary Stone and head slightly southwest. The Momo Kitty will be sitting on the stone wall of a house in front of a large golden tree. | Read the stone tablet to the left of the Momo Kitty and strike the cat-shaped bells behind it from left to right to complete the puzzle. |
| Ring the Bell to Pray |
|
This puzzle is in the Ayisu area of the map at the bottom of the region. The kitty is within the ruins of the village, northwest of the Squarewall Hold Ruins Boundary Stone. | When you enter the area, you’ll be attacked by flying enemies; however, if you’re quick enough, ring the cat-shaped bells on the building next to the Momo Kitty from bottom to top to complete the puzzle. |
| Ring the Bell to Pray |
|
Travel to the Horsehelm Village Boundary Stone, and you’ll find the Momo Kitty towards the northeast. | For this puzzle, ring/hit the bells following the stone tablet’s description. Hit the middle one on the windowsill, then the one to the left, the one to the right, and finally the one in the courtyard area, which is on a flagpole. |
| Ring the Bell to Pray |
|
In the Straying Steed Sands area of the map, head to the Peaceward Camp Boundary Stone and travel north to find the Momo Kitty. It can be found beneath the withered tree. | It doesn’t seem to matter which order you strike the bells in to complete this puzzle, as the Stone Tablet only requests that you make a tune. However, we completed it by striking the bells in this order: 3, 4, 1, 2. |
| Sand-Skiing |
|
Travel to the Camel Station Boundary Stone and head southeast across the Milky Way path to find the Momo Kitty. |
When approaching the Momo Kitty, you’ll see a glowing red ball. When interacting with it (‘Pat Silk Ball’), large glowing circles will appear. Entering them will transform you into your Chasing the Moon Mystic Skill form. From there, you need to flow through the circles and collect the correct number of bubbles (Melodies) within the timeframe. |
| Sand-Skiing |
|
There are two Momo Kitty puzzles in the Wraithridge Pass Boundary Stone area. The Sand-Skiing challenge is northeast of the Boundary Stone beyond the stone ruins. |

| Gather will-o’-wisps |

The second Momo Kitty puzzle in the Wraithridge Pass Boundary Stone area is southeast of the stone. | Similar to the sand-skiing puzzle, you need to ‘Pat Silk Ball’ when approaching the cat. Glowing balls (Melodies) will appear on top of poles, and you need to collect them to complete the puzzle. |

|
This puzzle is southwest of the Squarewall Hold Ruins Boundary Stone and directly west of the other Momo Kitty puzzle in the area. | Similar to the sand-skiing puzzle, you need to ‘Pat Silk Ball’ when approaching the cat. Glowing balls (Melodies) will appear across the stone ruins to the left of the cat, and you need to collect them to complete the puzzle. |
To solve the Sand-Skiing puzzles, remember to push forward and go through each circle to maintain your speed.
The Momo Temple
Once you’ve finished several Momo Kitty puzzles, you’ll gain access to the Momo Temple. Here, you can buy unique items from the Desert Cat. The temple is located in the Golden Sands River area, just east of the Poplar Bazaar Boundary Stone, and it’s cleverly hidden within a rocky hill.
