Kanye West will perform at Wireless Festival in the UK, marking his first show there in over a decade.
Organizers are reportedly in the final stages of negotiating with Ye, the 48-year-old rapper known for his controversial behavior and past scandals.
After making controversial and offensive statements, including antisemitic remarks, Ye is trying to repair his damaged public image.
He’s set to return to Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park this July, more than ten years after a previous performance where he was booed by the crowd.
During his performance, Ye unexpectedly paused to criticize the fashion industry, and the audience didn’t seem to appreciate it.
According to a source, Ye has faced a lot of challenges recently, but he’s eager to return to performing and show everyone he’s a dedicated artist.
‘Wireless is a massive festival and for him to return and headline would be huge.’
They told The Sun that he’s hoping to regain popularity in the UK after losing support due to his controversial opinions and comments.
‘He has apologised profusely for his behaviour over the last few years and he wants a fresh start.
I’m so excited! I’ve been following the news closely, and it looks like Ye is finally close to headlining Wireless Festival. They’re still working out exactly how many nights he’ll be performing, but it’s looking really promising! I can’t wait for it to be officially confirmed.
Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Ye.
In 2014, Tinashe unexpectedly became the main performer at Wireless Festival when Drake had to cancel because he was sick.
Despite a rough start with boos on his first night, things worsened on the second night. He angered the crowd by starting his performance late and then launching into another lengthy speech, leading audience members to chant for Drake.
About fifteen minutes into his performance, he suddenly stopped the music, turned off the big screens, and began speaking seriously and personally to the audience.
I was absolutely devastated to hear they took Kanye’s wax figure down from Madame Tussauds! It just feels like everything’s falling apart. All those brands dropping him after everything he said… it’s just awful. I still can’t believe it, honestly. It feels like they’re erasing him, and I’m heartbroken.
Following his controversial statements, including the claim that ‘slavery is a choice,’ brands like Adidas, Gap, and Balenciaga cut ties with him, and he was removed from Forbes’ list of billionaires.
Okay, so, Ye finally said he was sorry for all the awful stuff he said about Jewish people last month. He was talking to fans, and he tried to explain it all by saying his bipolar disorder makes him… disconnected, like he loses touch with what’s real. Honestly, it felt like he was trying to make things right, you know? It was a little messy, but I was just relieved to hear something.
His apology was published as a page-long advertisement in the Wall Street Journal.
Ye is now saying his recent actions are linked to health issues stemming from a car accident he was in back in 2002.
According to a statement in the January 26th Wall Street Journal, West claims he suffered a brain injury in the accident that wasn’t immediately recognized. He believes this lack of proper medical attention contributed to the development of his bipolar disorder.
Honestly, going through that illness was incredibly disorienting. It felt like I lost touch with who I really was. And in a really frightening way, I found myself strangely drawn to symbols of hate – specifically, the swastika – as if I was being pulled toward the most damaging thing imaginable. It was a dark time, and I’m sharing this because it highlights how vulnerable we can be when we’re struggling with our well-being.
Okay, so Kanye – I mean, Ye – released this ad, and it’s just… everything. It’s called ‘To Those I Hurt,’ and he basically explains how things got really bad a few months ago – he said he ‘hit rock bottom’ – but thankfully, Bianca convinced him to get help. Honestly, just knowing he’s trying… it means so much. It was totally him writing it, you can feel it, and it’s so raw and vulnerable. I’m just so proud he’s taking steps to get better, and Bianca seems amazing for supporting him through all of this.
Recently, it was reported that Bianca has given the rapper another chance after he completed treatment for his behavior at a facility in Spain.
