The initial trailer for the new HBO series, Lanterns, from DC Studios quickly got people talking online. Soon after it was released, many viewers noticed and began discussing a particular detail related to the Green Lantern character.

DC fans react to Green Lantern’s suit after new trailer
Fans of DC comics on X (formerly Twitter) shared their excitement after watching the initial trailer for the upcoming HBO series ‘Lanterns,’ with many focusing on the quick glimpse of the Green Lantern costume.
Many viewers didn’t like the new design, specifically mentioning a lack of green. Some compared it to previous versions and wondered about the choices made in the preview.
Fans expressed strong disappointment with the recent teaser trailer. One user bluntly criticized it, saying it looked worse than the previous attempt and even worse than a cosplay. Another pointed out the lack of green color, comparing it unfavorably to a Ben 10 poster. Many felt the trailer could have been much better with simpler choices.
Several people mentioned filmmaker Zack Snyder and his decision to cut Green Lantern from the Justice League movie. One user apologized to Snyder for any past criticism, while another jokingly suggested he filmed the changes himself using makeshift materials.
HBO unveiled the trailer for “Lanterns” on March 4th, giving fans a first look at the new DC series arriving in August. The show centers on Hal Jordan, portrayed by Kyle Chandler, and John Stewart, played by Aaron Pierre. Both characters are Green Lanterns – intergalactic peacekeepers equipped with powerful rings that let them build anything they imagine out of green light.
This story centers around two characters who team up to solve a murder in Nebraska. The preview shows glimpses of the Green Lantern ring and its power source, along with a nod to the character Ch’p. The series also stars Kelly Macdonald, Nathan Fillion, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, and Nicole Ari Parker.
Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King created the series for DC Studios television.
