Now that Stranger Things has ended, fans don’t need to search for something new – a well-regarded show is already available on another streaming platform. Stranger Things was a huge success for Netflix, becoming a defining series for the service, and that’s a positive thing.
The show Stranger Things has been a huge hit for Netflix, with two of its seasons appearing on the list of all-time most popular shows. Season 4 is currently ranked third with 140.7 million views in its first 91 days, and the fifth and final season is in fourth place with 120.1 million views. Whatever show follows Stranger Things is also proving successful, finding its own audience.
Stranger Things’ Perfect Replacement Is From The Biggest Sci-Fi Franchise
Now that Stranger Things has ended, fans looking for a similar adventure can check out Star Wars: Skeleton Crew on Disney+. All eight episodes of the first season are currently streaming. The show centers around a group of kids who discover a major secret and embark on a galactic journey.
Does this seem familiar? Though different in some ways, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew captures the same heartwarming, 1980s adventure vibe that made Stranger Things so popular. The young actors are all excellent, and Jude Law’s character, Jod, plays a similar role to David Harbour’s Jim Hopper – an experienced adult who mentors and guides a group of kids through their adventures.
It’s doubtful that Skeleton Crew will have a long run like Stranger Things. The show’s viewership wasn’t strong enough to justify a second season, especially considering its high production costs.
Despite rumors, the show hasn’t been cancelled and the creators are hoping to continue it. Even if it ends after season one, the story feels complete, which is good news for fans of Stranger Things. Plus, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has earned a strong 92% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, making it another sci-fi series worth checking out.
Stranger Things Fans Can Also Continue In The Netflix Universe For Years To Come
Netflix
For fans who prefer to stay in the world of Stranger Things rather than explore the Star Wars story, there’s good news! A Stranger Things spinoff is coming in 2026. It’s an animated series called Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, and it will take place between seasons 2 and 3 of the original show.
As a huge Stranger Things fan, I was so excited to see they’ve basically set up a spin-off series! That glowing stone we saw in Henry Creel’s backstory? They’re going to explore where that came from in a new prequel show. It’s great knowing there’s more Stranger Things-style content coming even after the main show ends – I’ve heard Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is going to have a similar vibe, which I can’t wait to check out!
