As a longtime fan, I just learned that Margaret Josephs from The Real Housewives of New Jersey recently had a rhinoplasty – a nose job! It sounds like she’s gone under the knife again to change things up.
This week, the 58-year-old shared before-and-after photos on Instagram detailing her recent ‘nasal rejuvenation’ procedure, including pictures of her recovery.
She explained that she became self-conscious as she aged because the corner of her mouth started to turn down when she smiled, which bothered her greatly.
Honestly, growing up, I loved my nose! A nose job never even crossed my mind. But as I’ve gotten older, the cartilage just…gave way, you know? It made the little bump I always had look so much more noticeable, and it’s been bothering me more and more. It’s just…it changed with age, and I can’t help but fixate on it now.
Okay, so I’ve been following Josephs for ages, and I always noticed she seemed a little self-conscious in pictures. Turns out, she was really bothered by her nose! She finally decided to do something about it, though – she went to Dr. Motykie, that amazing Beverly Hills surgeon, for what she called a ‘slight tweak’. Honestly, I’m so glad she did it, she’s always been gorgeous, but now she just glows!
‘Now my nose fits my face perfectly and no one can quite put their finger on why!’ she said.
Rhinoplasty has now become a secret anti-ageing hack with people in their 50s and 60s.
According to Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Deepak Dugar, our noses and ears continue to grow and sag as we get older due to the effects of gravity, as he explained to Daily Mail last year.
As we age, particularly after our 40s, 50s, and 60s, people who haven’t had rhinoplasty may notice their nose appears longer and starts to droop when comparing current photos to those taken when they were younger.
Dr. Dugar, known for his innovative ‘Scarless Nose Job’ – including the one he performed on Sami Sheen – has recently seen a significant increase in older adults requesting rhinoplasty.
People over 50 today are much more aware of procedures to help them look and feel younger, thanks to the growing popularity of facelifts and a focus on natural-looking facial rejuvenation.
However, this often causes patients to shift their attention to the central part of their face, which a facelift can’t fix. Consequently, they start asking about getting a nose job.
Okay, so Dr. Dugar told me something amazing! He used to say most of his rhinoplasty patients were younger, but now? Now it’s totally flipped! He says people over 50 are getting nose jobs almost as much as those of us between 18 and 25! Can you believe it? It’s like, everyone wants a little tweak, no matter how old they are, and I’m living for it! He said they’re now his second biggest group of patients. It’s just… incredible!
People over 50 generally have more disposable income and have often considered this procedure for years, so they’re usually clear about wanting to go through with it, he explained.
Dr. Dugar, a leading rhinoplasty surgeon in Hollywood, explained that a well-done nose job can significantly rejuvenate a person’s appearance.
He explained that a younger-looking nose usually has a slight lift, rather than drooping, which contributes to a more youthful and rounded appearance for the entire face.
Reducing the size of the nose can create a more sculpted appearance, which often contributes to a more youthful look.
In addition to her nose job, Josephs also received fat grafting and stem cell therapy to regain facial volume she had lost.
After recently having cosmetic surgery, Josephs has been showing off her refreshed appearance at events like BravoCon in November.
She also attended a Broadway show in New York City on February 10.
Josephs has had multiple plastic surgeries, including significant facial procedures in 2019.
Dr. Mark Karolak performed a series of facial rejuvenation procedures on the patient, including a neck lift revision, a deep plane facelift, and revisions to both the upper and lower eyelids.
I was so excited for her when she decided to get a breast lift and reduction! She went to Dr. Joseph Michaels, who’s actually done work for Dolores Catania from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, so I knew she was in good hands.
She shared with New Beauty that she consistently gets Botox and laser treatments, and highly recommends her plastic surgeon, Dr. Mark Karolak.
Honestly, getting a facelift was the best decision I ever made. Creams and other topical treatments just can’t compare to the results you get from a facelift when your skin starts to lose elasticity and sag.
As a huge Real Housewives of New Jersey fan, I’m so excited to hear the buzz that Jackie Goldschneider might be back for the next season! It’s been a while since we last saw the show, as they took a break in 2024 to make some changes, but it sounds like things are moving forward and hopefully, she’ll be part of it.
