asobism, the team behind Vivid Knight, has released their new game, Live Hard, Die Hard. It’s a real-time strategy game where you defend against invaders, and it’s available for $4.99 on both Android and iOS. This is an independent, or ‘indie’, game.
Build your best team and lead them in real-time combat to stop alien invasion
Live Hard, Die Hard is a fast-paced strategy game set in the distant future. Humanity is struggling to survive after a surprise alien attack, and you take command of a skilled special forces team. You’ll direct soldiers who fight and move independently as you try to turn the tide in this counter-invasion war.
You have four weeks to assemble and train your team before the mission starts. Each week involves managing your base and sending out expeditions to collect resources, build up your team, and engage in live combat. During fights, you can strategically retreat, call in reinforcements, use special abilities, and coordinate artillery strikes to achieve success.
You can battle and treat soldiers at the same time with the split screen system
Honestly, my favorite thing about this game is the split screen – it’s so clever! You’re looking at the battlefield up top, but down below you’re busy patching up your guys or, even weirder, cutting open aliens to get these random power-ups. And it’s not just about fighting, you really have to keep an eye on your soldiers’ mental health too, giving them rewards so they don’t get totally stressed out and crack under pressure.
I’m really excited about this game! It looks fantastic with its split-screen co-op, fun cartoon style, and deep, strategic battles. I also like the idea of managing stress and building a team of diverse warriors, each with customizable skills, body modifications, and genetic traits. Plus, the commander abilities add another layer of strategy. Even though it’s a paid game, I’m definitely planning to give it a try.
The action game Live Hard, Die Hard is now available for $4.99 on both Android and iOS devices. You can download it from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
