The next update for eFootball 2026, version v5.3.1, is scheduled to be released on March 5, 2026. Although KONAMI hasn’t officially detailed the changes, previous updates indicate we might see new content for managers, improvements to the Link-Up playstyle, and new player packs. Here’s a preview of what to anticipate when the update launches.
eFootball 2026 v5.3.1 update overview
A new Manager might arrive
The game has been getting a lot of new managers lately, each with their own special way of playing, and this is likely to continue in the next update, version 5.3.1. We usually see new managers added each month, and it’s possible we’ll get either a completely new style of play or see some familiar faces return.
Epic and Show Time player packs
Big updates to the game usually include large sets of new player cards, often with as many as 200 players. Last month was different, though – we only received two featured players, Salah and Van Dijk, in a smaller pack of 100. This time around, they may also reintroduce the Epic cards.
Refresh of Nominating Contract packs and others
We’re bringing back the Player of the Week feature regularly, and each week we’ll feature a new team of top players. We’re also updating how we select players, hoping to showcase stronger, more useful options and create even better content.
Possible Gameplay Adjustments
Update 5.3.1 could also feature tweaks to how the game plays and improvements to the game engine, which are common with these kinds of updates.
Popular eFootball content creator Amadeusz has reported that recent game testing indicates Konami is working towards more realistic player interactions and movement speeds.
Latest Engine Test: Good News for Shorter Players

Older versions of the game engine sometimes let taller players accelerate a little faster when starting to move. But testing shows that the latest version makes player height and size irrelevant to how quickly they start or move without the ball.
This change will especially help smaller, more nimble players like fast dribblers and attackers. Before, even very quick players sometimes felt sluggish compared to taller players because of how their movements looked in the game.
