Paddy McGuinness and his ex-wife Christine are STILL struggling to sell £6.5million mansion a year after putting it on the market

It’s been a year since Paddy McGuinness and his ex-wife, Christine, first listed their £6.5 million Cheshire home for sale, and they’re still looking for a buyer.

After eleven years as a couple, they separated in June 2022. However, they’ve continued to share a home for the benefit of their three children, all of whom are on the autism spectrum.

According to The Sun, Paddy isn’t willing to lower the price of the property, even though they’ve only had a few viewings in the past year.

The BBC Radio 2 host is hoping a wealthy Premier League footballer will buy the property, potentially earning them a £4 million profit.

According to a source, Paddy is unwilling to lower the price, believing a buyer will eventually come forward. He’s hoping a wealthy footballer will purchase the property, allowing for a significant profit.

It’s not helpful that a comparable, but slightly smaller, house is also for sale on the same street for £5 million. Plus, similar-sized properties across Cheshire have been on the market for around two years without selling.

They added: ‘He really needs to bite the bullet and drop the price tag.’

A comparable home on the same prestigious Cheshire street is currently listed for £1.5 million less than the price of Paddy and Christine’s house.

The former couple purchased the house for £2.1 million in 2020. It boasts seven bedrooms, a gym, separate dressing rooms for him and her, a sunroom, a swimming pool, and an indoor soft play area for children.

I was absolutely devastated when I found out Paddy had put our house on the market! It’s worth a lot, £6.5 million, but honestly, I think he deliberately overpriced it just so it wouldn’t sell. It feels like a really cruel game, and I’m just so angry and confused right now. It’s like he doesn’t even want to move on, but won’t admit it!

Her friends were worried she’d be stuck living with the ex-Top Gear presenter for a long time, as the property’s hefty price tag – £4.4 million more than she originally paid in 2020 – could deter potential buyers.

‘It is so overpriced, Paddy doesn’t want to sell which seems like another tactic by him.

Someone close to Paddy McGuinness expressed shock that he’s selling his house for such a high price, considering he only purchased it five years ago and property values haven’t really increased since then.

The house is listed for a price that’s about 67% higher than what was originally paid, and it’s unlikely to sell at that price. It seems like Paddy is trying to maintain control and prolong living with Christine by keeping the house on the market rather than actually selling it.

Christine told him their relationship was over, but now it seems like they’ll be stuck living together for the foreseeable future.

This news follows Christine’s announcement that she’s seeing someone new, and her sharing of the unhealthy habit she’s working to overcome.

After her split with Paddy, Christine has been actively pursuing new career and romantic interests. She even tried appearing on the reality show Celebs Go Dating, but left when she found the experience too stressful.

It seems Christine is dating again. She recently mentioned she’s in a casual relationship with someone new, but hasn’t revealed their identity.

According to The Mirror, the model admitted she used to share too much personal information when she first met this person.

Christine worried the relationship had led to an unhealthy attachment – a ‘trauma bond’ – and she hoped to avoid repeating this pattern in future close relationships, as she considered this trait to be damaging.

On her podcast, ‘Situationships with Sophie and Christine,’ she discussed her current casual relationship. She explained that before it began, she and the other person talked a lot, and she recognized the risk of forming a trauma bond – something she’d experienced before – based on their shared experiences.

‘That’s the last bond I’d like to build with someone because it’s almost toxic.’

In October, Christine shared how she told her children about her divorce from Paddy, and she was surprised and touched by how well they took the news.

The pair, who wed in 2011, have three children – twins Leo and Penelope, as well as Felicity.

Now that her twins are twelve years old, Christine has shared that they’ve handled the divorce with maturity.

Christine, who works with the Barratt Redrow Campaign, told DailyMail that she has discussed relationships and growing up with the children.

Now that my twins are twelve, we’ve started having some important talks, and I’m amazed by how insightful and mature they are.

I’m incredibly proud of the strong family we’ve built. We’re open with each other, communicate really well, and always make sure the kids feel safe and secure, knowing that every family has its own way of doing things, and this is just ours.

As a lifestyle expert, one of the most important lessons I share is empowering people to understand that adulthood is all about flexibility. I always tell people it’s perfectly okay to change your mind – about anything! That means if you’re in a romantic relationship one day and realize you’d be happier as friends, or even just as family, that’s completely valid. It’s about honoring what you need and being brave enough to shift gears. Don’t feel locked in – you have the power to redefine your relationships and live authentically.

Christine shared that Paddy is a dedicated worker and she really admires his passion for what he does.

Oh my gosh, she said the sweetest things! She basically said he’s such a hard worker, always putting in the effort – a real grafter, you know? And she said he loves what he does, and honestly, I totally get why she admires that about him! It’s just… perfect.

He’s motivated me to be more ambitious and self-reliant, to really pursue my goals. I admire his dedication and work ethic. It takes a lot to be away from your kids and family, and I understand that. People sometimes assume work is a break, but honestly, being at home can be the tougher job, and that’s often true.

Christine and Paddy finalized their divorce last summer through a private agreement, after continuing to live together for the benefit of their three children, all of whom have autism.
