I’m so excited that Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere – the movie with Jeremy Allen White and Stephen Graham that everyone’s been talking about – is now available to stream in the UK! It’s based on a true story, and I’ve heard the acting is amazing. Definitely adding this 2025 release to my watch list!
In the film, written and directed by Scott Cooper, actor Zach White plays Bruce Springsteen while he’s working on his 1982 album, Nebraska. This album would later be considered by many to be Springsteen’s most important work.
I’m really digging Bruce’s new stuff, it feels super personal. He’s always been honest in his songs, but this time it’s hitting different. It’s like digging up old memories – tough ones from his childhood and a really complicated relationship with his dad, Douglas. It’s clearly taking a toll on him, but it’s also making the music incredibly powerful.

Despite earning only $45 million in theaters, the documentary Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere received mostly positive reviews. Currently, 61% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes recommend it, based on 249 reviews.

According to Rolling Stone, Cooper’s performance is far more engaging than simply recreating his classic songs. The magazine highlighted that White doesn’t just copy the singer-songwriter; he delivers something truly special.
According to The New York Times, the most surprising thing about the documentary Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere is that it doesn’t avoid showing the deep emotional struggles of a young Bruce Springsteen – it’s a strong, engaging, and moving film about a difficult time in his life.
Vulture also highly recommended the film, noting that it offers a genuine and insightful portrayal of the creative process—showing it can be a difficult, frightening, and even damaging experience. They argued that this alone makes the movie worthwhile.

On IMDb, the drama currently has an average rating of 6.7 out of 10, based on over 16,000 user reviews. One reviewer highlighted the show’s thoughtful handling of mental health and praised the strong performances by White and Graham.
Disney+ subscribers can already watch the drama, and another of Graham’s films, The Good Boy, will be in theaters soon. The first trailer for The Good Boy was released earlier this week.
