Katherine Jenkins reveals Tom Cruise mistook her for a member of the Royal Family and got ‘body-slammed against a wall’ during embarrassing meeting

Katherine Jenkins shared a funny story about how Tom Cruise thought she was a royal at the concert celebrating the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The 45-year-old Welsh singer remembered a humiliating incident where the actor was forcefully thrown against a wall by soldiers while backstage.

Let me tell you, as someone who’s seen a lot of stage costumes, Katherine’s gown was truly spectacular – a real Cinderella moment! But it came with a funny challenge. It was so big and voluminous that getting through the narrow hallways backstage was…well, a tight squeeze! She had a little trouble navigating those corridors after her performance.

I’ll never forget seeing her perform in Sandringham back in June 2022! She looked absolutely stunning in a red dress – it was off-the-shoulder with these beautiful puffy sleeves and really hugged her waist. It was a truly iconic moment.

I remember it so vividly. I was heading onto the stage, and right then, Tom was walking off, with military personnel guiding him. Luckily, because I work with the military quite a bit, they recognized me and let me through.

They both greeted me with a “good evening,” but one of them had to shove Tom aside to make room, nearly knocking him into the wall.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Katherine recalled a peculiar encounter after performing. She described the performer giving her a bizarre combination of a handshake, nod, and bow, jokingly suggesting he might have mistaken her for someone from the royal family.

The mezzo-soprano singer performed her most popular songs at the Platinum Jubilee concert, accompanied by a symphony orchestra and the Military Wives Choirs.

Katherine confessed to feeling nervous before her performance, explaining that singing for this particular person required her absolute best effort.

No matter how often I perform for her or see her, whether it’s before a huge crowd or at a small gathering, I’m always thrilled. It’s a real honor, and I appreciate every invitation.

I was so thrilled when the musician posted on Instagram about how honored she was to be performing at Sandringham this weekend! It’s such a historic event, and she seemed genuinely excited to be a part of it.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m still buzzing from tonight! Being part of such an incredible audience, all sharing so much love and joy for Her Majesty, was truly a dream come true. It’s a moment I’ll cherish forever, and I’m so grateful I got to experience it. Thank you for including me!

Katherine recently appeared on Magic Classical, a classical music radio station, to celebrate the 90th birthday of the famous opera singer Luciano Pavarotti with a special tribute.

The station joined forces with Decca Classics to commemorate the launch of Novanta, a new 74-song album from the renowned opera singer. The album includes classic collaborations and songs never before released.

The network featured a special interview with Katherine Jenkins before the release of her new documentary, Pavarotti at 90 with Katherine Jenkins.

The documentary featured a well-known British mezzo-soprano, who was a big fan of Pavarotti, as she delved into the life and musical impact of the famous tenor.

Katherine told Bauer Media that she was thrilled to share a documentary about Luciano Pavarotti’s incredible life, from his modest start, through years of hard work, to becoming the world-famous star he is remembered as.

Pavarotti wasn’t just an incredible singer, he was a lifelong inspiration to me. His artistry greatly influenced my own career and strengthened my love of music.

I’ve always admired his ability to connect with people through music, so it’s truly meaningful to share his story. His songs continue to inspire and demonstrate the incredible impact music can have.
