Farrah Abraham sparks outrage in a racy desert look alongside goth daughter, 17, at the pyramids in Egypt

Farrah Abraham took her daughter Sophia to Egypt for a big 17th birthday celebration, but the trip caused some disagreement and criticism.

The 34-year-old Teen Mom star was photographed with her teenage child, who has a goth style, in front of Egypt’s Great Pyramid and Sphinx. She was wearing a somewhat revealing outfit.

I was honestly shocked to see the backlash she received. She just shared some photos of herself looking fabulous and enjoying a ride on both a horse and a camel, but some fans in that country seemed really upset by her style, which they considered too bold for their culture. It was disappointing to see her getting criticized for simply expressing herself.

The TV personality chose a daring outfit for a desert scene, going without a bra and wearing a flowing yellow scarf with a see-through black skirt.

Sophia complemented her black dress with striking gold jewelry and detailed henna-style designs on her hands. She completed the look with a full, dark hairstyle and dramatic eye makeup.

Fans disapproved of Abraham’s clothing, as visitors to the historically and religiously significant site are typically expected to dress modestly.

Someone pointed out that respecting local cultures is an important part of travel, and that Farrah’s lack of awareness could be putting you at risk.

‘You’re brave. Showing so much skin for such a conservative country….’  another added.

‘Shocked as well,’ someone else replied to the comment.

‘Especially on a respect level,’ another person chimed in.

Many people also criticized Abraham for posting Instagram photos of her and Sophia enjoying camel and horseback rides in the desert.

‘Poor animals,’ one wrote.

‘These animals are so abused I feel so bad for them.’

‘These poor animals all for the gram.’

‘Exploitation of animals isn’t a good look.’

This is awful! Please don’t ride these camels. It’s not enjoyable, and it causes them a great deal of suffering. Look at the scars, dried blood, and whip marks on the camel – it’s clear they are being hurt.

Abraham shared a post with a long caption explaining they were visiting the pyramids with Sophia Abraham just before the U.S. killed an Iranian leader, an event that has now restricted American travel to the Middle East.

We send our prayers and best wishes to our brothers and sisters in Africa and the Arab world, hoping you and your families thrive. Please know that America will always welcome you home.

As a firm believer in a better future, I was deeply moved by her message. She passionately called for an end to hatred and conflict, urging everyone to come together – a sentiment beautifully captured by the spirit of the #AbrahamAccord. It’s a simple yet powerful plea for peace on earth and a reminder to stop hurting one another. She encouraged us all to focus on being our best selves, one day at a time, and to lead with protection and love. ❤️

Abraham posted photos from her trip and shared that she and Sophia got identical tattoos of hieroglyphs.

Sophia shared photos of matching tattoos she and her mother got while in Egypt, writing, ‘Mothers first tattoo!’

These tattoos symbolize everlasting life and love, featuring designs inspired by ancient Egyptian art, including the Eyes of Ra and Horus, and hieroglyphics. The Arabic script says “eternal love.” I’m thrilled I got to share this meaningful matching tattoo experience with my mom while in Egypt. It’s been a wonderful year so far!

Sophia recently revealed tattoos of bats on her stomach, which she had done in October with her mother’s approval.

Abraham received backlash for letting her daughter get her stomach tattooed.

Back then, she and her daughter posted videos online showing Sophia getting a tattoo of two rows of bats around and under her belly button.

Abraham, once criticized for letting his 13-year-old daughter get a septum piercing, happily watched as she got a tattoo. His daughter was dressed in a darkly glamorous style, with a complete white makeup look.

To playfully reveal her new tattoo, she jokingly told everyone Sophia was pregnant. Sophia pretended to be pregnant, holding her stomach, then lifted her shirt to show off the fresh ink.

Abraham first entered the spotlight in 2009 on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant.

She experienced significant personal hardship after her high school boyfriend passed away right before her daughter, Sophia, was born.

She became a well-known and often debated personality on Teen Mom, and later expanded into other TV shows, music, and adult entertainment.

She departed the MTV franchise in 2018.
