Godzilla’s Monsterverse Just Teased A Cool New Titan And Even Told Us What It Might Look Like

Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters hinted at a new Titan appearing in Korea, even giving viewers a surprisingly clear look at what it might look like. The Monsterverse created by Legendary already features a lot of massive creatures, many of which have been mentioned in films and the show but haven’t actually appeared on screen yet.

The Apple TV+ Monsterverse has significantly broadened the world of Godzilla and Kong, introducing creatures like the Ion Dragon, Frost Vark, and Endopede. The second season is adding a new monster to the mix: Titan X, a massive sea creature. As the show reveals how the original Monarch team first discovered Titan X, it also hints at the existence of another mysterious being.

Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters Teased A Monsterverse Version Of Pulgasari

In the premiere of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2, Shaw, Keiko, and Randa discussed a strange creature – Pulgasari – while traveling to investigate a new clue. This beast, rooted in Korean folklore both within the show and in reality, is described as having features of a tiger, bear, elephant, and rhino, and is known for consuming metal. Randa revealed she previously spent considerable time searching for Pulgasari in Korea, but wasn’t successful.

Keiko and Shaw’s playful questioning of Randa suggests they’re still unsure if a version of the monster Pulgasari exists within the Monsterverse, as Randa hasn’t found any proof. It’s currently unknown, but their discussion hints that Pulgasari might show up in the future, possibly in a later episode or the Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Cold War spin-off.

Many creatures from myths and legends, like the Loch Ness Monster, are already hinted to have real-world origins within the Monsterverse stories. Considering this, it’s not surprising to think other creatures might also exist somewhere in that world.

When Pulgasari Could Appear In The Monsterverse

The possible location of Pulgasari, the monster from the Monsterverse, makes us wonder if we’ll ever see it in a movie. The map of Monarch’s bases shown in Godzilla: King of the Monsters didn’t include any locations in Korea. This suggests that, if Pulgasari is real, Monarch hadn’t discovered it by 2019, or at least hadn’t set up an outpost to study it.

It’s also possible Pulgasari escaped Korea by traveling through the tunnels beneath the Earth. If so, it could now be anywhere on the planet, or even hidden within the Hollow Earth world shared by Godzilla and Kong.

This opens the door for Pulgasari to join the Monsterverse whenever they choose. Considering how different and interesting he is, it would be disappointing if he didn’t show up in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters or any future series.
