Released in 2024, the film Reawakening, written and directed by Virginia Gilbert, tells the story of Mary and John, played by Juliet Stevenson and Jared Harris, who are heartbroken when their teenage daughter, Clare, suddenly goes missing.
Ten years after Clare disappears, she unexpectedly returns as a 24-year-old, now portrayed by Doherty. While John and his wife are overjoyed to have their daughter back, John begins to suspect that this woman claiming to be Clare might not be who she seems.

I’m really excited about Gilbert’s new film, Reawakening! It’s been a while since his last one, A Long Way From Home back in 2013. That movie was lovely – it starred James Fox and Brenda Fricker as a couple, Joseph and Brenda, who finally get to live out their dream of retiring to the south of France.
After moving, Joseph finds himself increasingly close to a younger couple, Suzanne and Mark, and this budding friendship threatens to disrupt his marriage.
