Shia LaBeouf’s estranged wife Mia Goth steps out for first time since actor’s second battery arrest

Mia Goth was seen in public for the first time since Shia LaBeouf, her soon-to-be ex-husband, was arrested for battery for the second time in ten days.

The 39-year-old actor was arrested in New Orleans on Saturday for simple battery. The charge relates to a fight that happened at a bar during Mardi Gras earlier this month.

Shia LaBeouf was first arrested on February 17th following a physical fight, and released after paying a $100,000 bond. As a condition of his release, he must now enter a rehabilitation program and submit to regular drug and alcohol tests.

Shortly before his recent arrest, LaBeouf spoke publicly for the first time since the altercation, sharing some unusual statements. He claimed he was frightened when approached by three men on Mardi Gras.

ā€˜Big gay people are scary to me,’ LaBeouf said bluntly during the hour-long interview.

Despite recent headlines, 32-year-old Goth was spotted in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday. This comes after her split from the Transformers actor last year, following a nine-year marriage.

The actress, known for her roles in horror films and mother to three-year-old Isabel with Shia LaBeouf, seemed relaxed and carefree as she was seen wearing a simple floral skirt and white tank top.

She looked relaxed and confident in oversized sunglasses and flip-flops.

The couple first became romantically linked in December 2012 after they met while filming Nymphomaniac: Vol II. They later surprised everyone by getting married in a quick ceremony in Las Vegas in 2016.

Their relationship was far from smooth.

In 2015, a heated argument between the couple was captured on camera, and they officially separated by 2018.

I was really sad to hear that Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth have decided to get a divorce. From what I understand, it’s a friendly split, and they’re keeping the details of the process private, which I respect. It’s just a difficult thing to hear, even knowing they’re handling it with grace.

The couple reconciled in 2020, and in 2022 it was revealed that Mia was pregnant.

The actress gave birth to Isabel in March of that year.

During one of their periods apart, LaBeouf briefly dated singer FKA Twigs in 2019.

The couple’s relationship ended with a very public and contentious legal dispute. FKA Twigs accused the actor of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, and of knowingly giving her a sexually transmitted disease, but he has refuted these claims.

The lawsuit asked for $10 million in compensation, claiming sexual battery, assault, and emotional suffering.

By July, the couple had reached a private agreement, and Twigs asked the court to drop all her claims against LaBeouf permanently, ensuring the case couldn’t be brought up again.

Attorneys for both sides confirmed the matter was resolved confidentially.

Okay, so I watched Shia LaBeouf’s interview on Channel 5 Saturday, and honestly, it was pretty wild! He definitely said some things that got people talking – a lot of it was really out there and definitely sparked some debate. It was a memorable interview, to say the least!

Among them was a claim that he felt ‘scared’ when approached by three gay men on Fat Tuesday.

During a conversation, LeBeouf admitted he feels uneasy around gay men, specifically mentioning a fear when they are physically close to him. He stated he feels scared when approached in this way and acknowledged that this reaction could be considered homophobic, accepting the label if it applies.

He described the argument, saying he’d been drinking and felt like someone had invaded his personal space. However, he acknowledged he wasn’t thinking clearly and took full responsibility for his actions.

He took responsibility for using a homophobic slur, explaining, ‘I said something hurtful, and I didn’t mean to offend anyone. I was wrong.’

The interview with Channel 5 took place on February 24th, a week after Mardi Gras, and aired on February 28th.

On Friday LaBeouf was issued a new warrant related to his February 17 arrest.

Sources told WWL LouisianaĀ that the warrant involves an additional victim from the same fight.

Witnesses reported that LaBeouf became increasingly agitated at a business and was asked to leave by employees. They claim he then physically attacked a man, hitting him several times with his fists.

I was shocked to hear what happened. Apparently, things got really bad when Shia LaBeouf came back and reportedly attacked the first person again. Then, witnesses say he actually punched another man right in the nose! It was a truly awful scene.

HeĀ  posted a $100,000 bond on Thursday after making a court appearance.Ā

The actor is now required to check into rehab and undergo regular drug and alcoholĀ testing.

Shia LaBeouf explained to Callaghan that he moved to New Orleans after the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025, as he has a strong family history there.

LaBeouf detailed some family history elsewhere in the thorough interview.Ā

He shared that his grandmother on his father’s side was a lesbian who married a man to appear straight. This man acted as a ‘beard’ – someone who pretended to be her husband to conceal her true relationship.

His family name was originally LeBoeuf, but his grandmother changed the spelling. She did this to create distance between herself and her family, who had rejected her.

He stated his acceptance of homosexuality, but with a condition: he’s comfortable with people being gay as long as it doesn’t involve any physical intimacy with him. He put it bluntly, saying, ‘I’m good with gay. Be gay over there though. Don’t be gay in my lap.’

In the wide-ranging interview, the movie star briefly discussed the demise of his marriage to Goth.

This isn’t a recent breakup. I don’t want to go into too much detail because it’s not just my story to share. But I take responsibility for the failure of my marriage, and that’s why I decided to move.
