“Who is babybay?” PRX f0rsakeN powers PRX to dominant win over G2 while TL tears down T1

Day 2 saw dominant performances from PRX, who convincingly defeated G2 Esports, and Team Liquid, who overpowered T1 with their strong European team.

Wow, day two of VALORANT Masters Santiago was incredible! Paper Rex totally dominated G2 Esports – it was a really fast series, honestly. But the biggest surprise for me was Team Liquid; they looked absolutely amazing and proved they’re a real force to be reckoned with right now.

G2 Esports can’t beat PRX

Paper Rex isn’t your typical VALORANT team. They’ve completely changed how the game is approached, using a smart, chaotic style that throws opponents off balance. Their fast-paced, aggressive gameplay has set a new standard for top-level competition. G2 Esports is still a strong team, especially in their region, but they often have trouble performing at the same level when competing internationally.

G2 Esports lost to Paper Rex (PRX) 2–0, failing to play at their full potential. f0rsakeN from PRX played exceptionally well, and Paper Rex continued their winning streak in the Upper Bracket with a dominant victory.

Before their match, f0rsakeN created a memorable moment for fans. When asked about competing against G2’s Andrej “babybay” Francisty, he simply replied, “Who is babybay?” This bold statement sparked excitement among fans gathered outside, and that same confidence carried over into the game, leading to a strong victory.

March 1st was a huge day for me – I mean, for f0rsakeN! I absolutely popped off, having one of my best performances yet. But the biggest thing? I finally brought Viper into a Tier 1 match! That means I’ve now played every agent at that level except for Gekko, which is pretty wild if I do say so myself.

Now that Gekko has been strengthened, f0rsakeN might be able to expand his range of agents during the tournament.

This was the 13th international event for both f0rsakeN and Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee, making them the most internationally experienced players in the VCT Pacific league. This achievement solidifies their status as veteran competitors with a strong presence on the world stage.

Are you sleeping on Team Liquid?

Team Liquid hasn’t been a major contender on the international stage for a while, but their current European lineup is surprisingly strong. T1 was the first team to feel the impact of this revitalized squad.

In the Day 2 trailer, Team Liquid’s TL Wayne shared how grateful he was for the opportunity and how he consistently strives to justify the team’s faith in him. Meanwhile, teammate Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin recalled that Wayne remembered him from when he was 18, praising his strong work ethic. Nats also expressed his desire to guide and support Wayne as a leader and mentor.

Team Liquid successfully figured out T1’s game plan and created a strong counter-strategy. They stayed calm and effectively shut down T1’s typically aggressive style, leading to a decisive victory.

Despite some impressive plays, T1 wasn’t able to win the series. They had a good opportunity on the second map, but couldn’t close it out, meaning the series ended there. Team Liquid moves forward in the tournament’s Upper Bracket.

Masters Santiago: Swiss Stage draw

The series concludes with the Swiss Stage, which will finalize the pairings for the next round of matches. Unlike before, teams from the same region can now compete against each other.

Paper Rex is up against Gentle Mates, and NRG will take on Team Liquid in the winners’ bracket. In the elimination bracket, EDG will play G2, and Xi Lai Gaming needs a win against T1 to stay in the competition.
