Socialite Hofit Golan insists Dubai ‘still feels like a very safe place’ just hours after witnessing terrifying Iranian missile strikes as she shares glimpse of fellow expats returning to the beach

Hofit Golan, a well-known socialite, stated on Sunday that Dubai generally feels safe, despite being frightened earlier that day when Iranian missiles hit a hotel near the Palm Jumeirah, forcing her to take shelter in a bathtub.

A 40-year-old Israeli influencer living in Dubai is among many celebrities and social media personalities expressing concern after recent Iranian retaliatory strikes throughout the Middle East, which followed US airstrikes.

Hofit updated her followers on Instagram, then shared a peek at her peaceful neighborhood as other expats headed back to the beach.

She explained that she was very tired because she hadn’t slept well, due to alarms and noises outside. Despite feeling exhausted, she reassured everyone that she and they were safe.

I’ve spoken with everyone, and they’re all safe. I continue to feel very secure here, and I’m thankful to be in this location.

She wrote in the post’s caption that she’s okay and appreciates everyone’s concern. She also confirmed that everyone she’s been in contact with is safe, but she’s exhausted from lack of sleep due to the recent events.

While filming from her balcony, she described a peaceful scene: The Palm Jumeirah was calm and quiet, creating a perfect day. She noted the beautiful, serene atmosphere, people enjoying the beach, and only the gentle sound of the breeze.

Kate Ferdinand and Luisa Zissman shared that they sheltered with their children in the basements of their Dubai homes due to recent missile strikes in the city.

Kate, age 34, her husband Rio, 47, and their family—including Kate and Rio’s children Shae, age two, and Cree, age five, plus Rio’s daughter Tia, 14—relocated to the UAE last August.

On Sunday, Kate used Instagram to let fans know she and her family were safe after experiencing a frightening night. She shared an update on their location to reassure everyone.

I wanted to thank you all for your kind messages. I’m sorry I haven’t responded sooner, but I’ve been struggling to find the right words. The good news is, we’re all safe.

The government is doing a fantastic job maintaining this situation, and even though I’m anxious, I feel confident we’re being well taken care of.

We’re hoping for a more relaxed evening tonight, as last night was quite frightening. Despite that, Cree and Shae really enjoyed it, especially getting to have a sleepover in the basement with everyone.

I’m so grateful for all your prayers during this difficult time. It’s been a really insightful experience, and I’m sending my thoughts and prayers to everyone who’s been impacted. Sending lots of love to you all.

Rio Ferdinand’s sons, Lorenz, 19, and Tate, 17, stayed in the UK to focus on their football and weren’t able to join the family when they moved to Dubai last year.

The influencer had previously shared that she was struggling to adjust after returning, especially missing the comfort of her London Christmas and familiar things at home.

In a recent episode of her podcast, Blended, she shared that experiencing life outside the UK has given her a new perspective. While she enjoys living in Dubai and feels content there, she still feels a strong connection to London and the UK, and misses a piece of herself when she’s away.

Kate explained that stepping down from his job as a sports commentator last year has allowed Rio to be more focused and engaged with his family.

She loves living there, especially for her children. They’re doing really well, are happy, and have a lot of freedom to play outdoors.

Rio is having an amazing time, and honestly, I’m enjoying myself too. But it’s tough being away from home, and I find myself getting really down sometimes. I especially miss my family – my sons – a lot, and that’s been the hardest part of this whole experience. It’s just a struggle, really.

I’m confident this is the best move for my younger kids, and we’re happy with life where we are. My older sons are pursuing their football dreams, which is what they want, and if they weren’t, they’d be here with us.

It’s really difficult, because our family has always been close and we’ve supported each other through everything, so this change is a big one.
