A good thriller just hooks you, and Hulu delivers, but I don’t think people realize how good their selection actually is. It’s totally underrated!

The South Korean crime drama Nine Puzzles is a hidden gem now streaming on Hulu with both Korean and English audio options. Thriller fans have no reason to skip this gripping mystery, which centers on criminal profiler Yoon E-na (Kim Da-mi) as she investigates a case linked to her uncle’s cold case murder.
Things get even more complicated when Detective Kim Han-saem, E-na’s partner, begins to suspect she may have been involved in her uncle’s death. As a series of murders emerges, all marked by a unique puzzle piece left at the scene, Han-saem and E-na have to put aside their personal issues and work together to catch the killer.
The Other Black Girl
An Editorial Assistant Uncovers The Sinister Truth Behind A New York Publishing House
Inspired by Zakiya Dalila Harris’s popular novel, The Other Black Girl explores the subtle and overt racism that can exist in workplaces. The story follows Nella Rogers (Sinclair Daniel), a skilled editorial assistant who feels isolated as the only Black woman at her publishing company—until Hazel-May McCall (Ashleigh Murray) joins the team.
As Nella and Hazel become closer friends, Nella starts to lose track of who she is, especially as Hazel tries to change her. Even though Hulu canceled it, The Other Black Girl is a fantastic show that’s well worth watching all in one go.

A Vast Conspiracy Unfolds As A Detective Extradites An Accused Murderer
I just finished watching this thriller, and let me tell you, it grabs you from the start. It centers around a vascular surgeon, Dr. Matthew Nolan, played by Richard Armitage, who suddenly finds himself a murder suspect. Detective Constable Hana Li, portrayed by Jing Lusi, is assigned the job of bringing him back to Beijing, but what seems like a simple transport quickly spirals into chaos. People on the plane start turning up dead, and it’s clear this isn’t going to be a routine flight. It’s a really tense setup, and I was immediately hooked trying to figure out what was going on.
Okay, so Red Eye isn’t getting rave reviews, but honestly, I really enjoyed it! It’s the perfect kind of show to just relax with – think of that guilty pleasure paperback you can’t put down on a rainy day. It’s super easy to follow and I ended up binge-watching the whole thing in one go. It’s just a fun, indulgent watch!

A Group Of CDC Scientists Combat The Outbreak Of A Strange Disease
Let me tell you about this show, Helix! You might not know it, but trust me, it’s a fantastic horror story. It started in 2014 and follows a team of scientists from the CDC who go to the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak. But it quickly turns into something way more intense – a seriously underrated zombie show! It really grabbed me and I think it will grab you too.
This zombie apocalypse isn’t like most others. The zombies aren’t just mindless monsters; they’re frighteningly smart, retaining their intelligence even after being infected by a disease that makes them cannibalistic. Adding to the danger, there are two different versions of the zombie virus, and scientists soon learn that a cure only exists for one of them.

A Father & His Young Daughter Are Swept Up In An Ongoing Murder Investigation
This captivating series is based on Blue Jeans’ 2018 novel. It centers around the peaceful village of Cárdena, which is shocked when a young girl is found murdered. Police Lieutenant Miguel Ángel (Daniel Grao) leads the investigation, and his daughter, Julia (Zoe Stein), unexpectedly joins him despite their strained relationship.
Okay, so this mystery starts strong, but as our detectives dig deeper, things get really complicated – suddenly, everyone in town looks suspicious. Honestly, The Invisible Girl is filmed entirely in Spanish, but don’t let that stop you. The subtitles are more than worth it; this is easily one of the best shows not originally made in English that you’ll find streaming right now. It’s a fantastic watch!

A Gripping British Mystery Following A Detective’s Quest For The Truth
As a huge thriller fan, I’ve always been impressed by the BBC’s output, and I was really looking forward to their 2024 series, The Jetty. It stars the fantastic Jenna Coleman as Detective Ember Manning, and the story centers around her obsession with a decades-old missing person case. Let’s just say, after years of digging – and a little bit of fire – the truth finally comes out!
Okay, so I just finished The Jetty on Hulu, and while it’s probably too early to call it an all-time great crime thriller, it totally grabbed me. Each episode had this clever little twist, and it left you trying to figure everything out as you went. Honestly, the ending was genuinely shocking – which, let’s be real, doesn’t happen very often these days, and I appreciated that, even if it was a bit unsettling.
Hyper Knife
After A Neurosurgeon Falls From Grace, There’s No Line She Won’t Cross
Doctors promise to first do no harm, but the series Hyper Knife explores what happens when a brilliant but unstable surgeon ignores that principle. Neurosurgeon Jung Se-ok, played by Park Eun-bin, was once a leading expert, but a tragic error ruined her career. Instead of stopping her, this setback only increases her determination to push boundaries, no matter the risk.
A surgeon starts secretly performing operations, driven by a relentless desire for knowledge and to get even with those who wronged her. With its huge popularity online, Hyper Knife is a must-watch K-drama thriller – if you’re only going to pick one, make it this one.
Devs
A High-Octane Techno-Thriller For The Ages
I was absolutely blown away by Devs. Not only did Nick Offerman give what I think is some of his most powerful dramatic work, but the show itself is truly one of the best sci-fi series I’ve seen in recent years. It centers around this incredible system hidden in an underground lab – it uses quantum computing to show you glimpses of the past, present, and even potential futures, playing out across countless different realities. It’s just… mind-bending!
After her boyfriend, a Russian spy, is mysteriously killed by her boss, software engineer Lily Chan (Sonoya Mizuno) begins to uncover a vast conspiracy within the company they work for. The more she investigates in the series Devs, the more complex and unsettling things become. Devs is a visually striking and compelling science fiction thriller, and easily one of the best shows available on Hulu.
