Married At First Sight star shares terrifying footage from Dubai apartment amid missile attacks: ‘I’ve just heard about 20 explosions’

Mikey Pembroke has shared terrifying footage as air strikes rain down on his Dubai apartment.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! My absolute FAVORITE guy from Married At First Sight – season seven, obviously the best season – he moved! He’s living somewhere new now, and get this – he’s a real estate agent! But not just any real estate, he’s selling fancy, high-end properties. I’ve been tracking his every move since last year when he made the switch, and it’s just…amazing.

A 34-year-old resident reported that Dubai was experiencing explosions. In a video posted to Instagram Stories on Sunday, he said he heard around 20 explosions near his apartment building.

‘The Palm – which is an exclusive area of Dubai – has been hit. There’s been like 20 explosions.

It sounds like missiles are being shot down right over where I am, and I’m really not sure what’s happening.

Pembroke posted video of nearby buildings engulfed in flames, saying he witnessed a missile fly by, incredibly close to him.

The former television groom was paired with Natasha Spencer on the reality dating series in 2020.

He later shared that he used to have problems with alcohol, but he overcame them and rebuilt his life by becoming a real estate agent in Dubai.

He described the city as truly exceptional in November, highlighting both its strong investment potential and the fantastic lifestyle it offers. He also noted the constant innovation and exciting developments taking place there.

Stephanie Rice, who recently moved to Dubai, has publicly appealed for help after the city was targeted by Iranian attacks. These attacks are a response to US air strikes.

Following a reported attack on the Burj Al-Arab hotel in Dubai – allegedly by an Iranian drone that caused a fire – three-time Olympic gold medallist shared a statement on Instagram.

A suicide drone struck the Palm Jumeirah hotel in Dubai, injuring four people. Following reports of a potential Iranian drone targeting the airport, Dubai International Airport was evacuated.

In an Instagram post, Rice asked for prayers for her friends, family, and everyone in the UAE, hoping they would feel safe and experience God’s peace during this difficult time. She also shared a statement from the Australian embassy in the United Arab Emirates.

Here’s an update for Australians in the United Arab Emirates: The UAE government has reported that it has been targeted by missile attacks originating from Iran.

The UAE Ministry of Defence announced that it was defending against an attack and had successfully stopped several incoming missiles.

‘However, the situation remains serious, and one civilian casualty has been confirmed.’

Rice, 37, moved to Dubai in November 2023.

She met her husband, pastor Mark Lassey, soon after relocating to the city of four million.

Video surfaced Sunday morning, Australian time, showing a fire at the luxurious Burj Al-Arab hotel in Dubai. Officials say the fire was started by wreckage from a drone that was shot down.

Shortly after the U.S. and Israel conducted air strikes in Tehran, Palm Jumeirah was struck by a drone that authorities say originated from Iran.

Dubai officials have confirmed that four people were hurt after the hotel was hit. The hotel is a popular destination for tourists from Western countries, and witnesses reported ambulances arriving quickly at the scene.
