According to FlixPatrol, it’s currently the most-watched show in the U.S. and ranks third in Australia on Paramount+. In Austria and Germany, where you can watch it on Prime Video, Ghosts reached its highest position at No. 7.
What Is Ghosts About?
Sam and Jay Arondekar inherit a house from Sam’s great aunt, hoping for a fresh start. However, they soon discover the house is haunted, and the ghosts are determined to prevent them from renovating it into a Bed and Breakfast.
A ghost affects Sam, and when she recovers, she gains the ability to see and communicate with the spirits haunting her house. Initially, Jay is skeptical, but he eventually comes to believe her. Sam then dedicates herself to helping these ghosts find peace so she and Jay can continue living in their home.
Ghosts is a remake of a popular British show. It stars Utkarsh Ambudkar, known from Pitch Perfect, alongside Sam and Jay. The series features a hilarious cast playing the ghosts, including Danielle Pinnock from Young Sheldon, Richie Moriarty of The Tick, Matt Walsh from Veep, Nichole Sakura from Superstore, and many other comedy favorites.
Ghosts Is One of CBS’s Best Sitcoms
The sitcom Ghosts is a critical and audience favorite, boasting a 97% score from critics and an 89% score from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. Already renewed for a sixth season and with plans for a movie, the show – currently in its fifth season – is clearly a hit with many.
Like the popular movie review site Rotten Tomatoes, the show Ghosts has a strong 7.9 rating on IMDb, based on feedback from over 48,000 viewers. It’s consistently been a top-rated show and has won several awards, including Best Comedy Series at the 2023 Critics’ Choice Television Awards and Best Broadcast Network Series, Comedy at the 2024 Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards.
The show Ghosts continues to gain a larger fanbase with each new season, and its strong performance on streaming services proves how popular it has become. Ghosts recently returned with new episodes on February 26th after a brief pause, and with more episodes and a movie planned, it’s expected to become even more successful.
