Jackie Henderson, a popular radio personality, appeared somber while out in Sydney on Saturday, amid rumors of a strained relationship with her co-host, Kyle Sandilands.
The 51-year-old KIIS FM personality seemed to want to avoid attention, hiding her face with large, dark sunglasses and wearing a simple, comfortable outfit of a loose grey t-shirt and baggy navy pants.
Jackie ditched her usual makeup and glamorous look for a more comfortable, relaxed appearance during her outing.
As she walked, she briefly touched her forehead, seeming deep in thought. Later, she was seen speaking softly into her phone, looking down as she did so.
Her shoulders were slightly hunched and her pace unhurried.
Jackie gave the impression she was eager to avoid attention as she made her way through the street.
In another moment, Jackie spoke on her phone while keeping her head down.
The radio personality, normally cheerful and energetic, seemed unusually somber and serious during this particular appearance, looking very different from how she usually presents herself on the air.
This follows Kyle Sandilands denying rumors that his radio show with Jackie has been cancelled, after he didn’t appear on air Thursday.
On Friday’s Kyle & Jackie O Show, 54-year-old Kyle responded to reports that he’d been taken off the air, explaining he was simply home sick.
The presenter explained he had been up through the night caring for his unwell baby.
‘I haven’t vanished, everyone,’ Kyle said at the top of the show.
The newspapers reported that my show, The Kyle & Jackie O Show, had ended and that I had disappeared. It really proves you shouldn’t trust everything you read in the press.
‘I feel they may have had their phones cut off; no one even rang to check.’
Kyle said his three-year-old son Otto had been coughing throughout the night.
He explained that the night had been rough. Every time the baby coughed, he’d wake up, and then he ended up with a headache.
Honestly, it’s just… you can tell it’s so hard for him to even be ‘on’ when he’s having a good day, but after barely any sleep? It’s just heartbreaking to watch him try and power through. You can see the effort, and it’s just… ugh, it’s so much to ask of anyone, especially him!
Kyle has said he’s sorry for the heated argument on air that upset his co-host, Jackie, and made her cry.
An emotional Jackie said she was deeply ‘offended’ by his brutal comments during the clash.
Kyle shared on Wednesday that he regrets how he dealt with a situation on The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
I clearly bothered her. Looking back, I probably shouldn’t have said that while we were live on the radio. But we often say things without thinking here on the show,” Kyle explained.
I didn’t intend to upset her, but clearly I did, and I feel bad about that. Nobody wants to cause someone pain, especially someone they care about.
I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but the show is continuing as planned. I’ve left the decisions about it to those in charge.
Kyle explained he simply wants to return to broadcasting with everyone feeling good about the situation. He expressed a desire for everyone involved, including ‘her,’ to be happy and enjoy the process, and he wants to feel the same way.
He playfully said he’d replace anyone on the production team with Jackie in a second, not worrying about upsetting anyone else.
Jackie was moved to tears after Kyle slammed her over an apparent ‘fixation’ with astrology.
Jackie and her companion were talking about the recent news surrounding Prince Andrew when Jackie started interpreting his astrological birth chart.
Okay, so here’s the deal – things got a little tense on set. Kyle really came down on his co-star, basically saying her interest in astrology was impacting her performance. It was a pretty direct critique, and honestly, a bit harsh. As someone who focuses on creating positive work environments, I always find these situations tricky – it’s important to address issues, but there are definitely more constructive ways to go about it.
