Jamie Laing playfully said he’s feeling like he’s going through a midlife crisis ever since he and his wife, Sophie Habboo, welcomed their first child. The couple took a night off from parenting to attend the BRIT Awards on Saturday.
The couple had a baby boy, named Ziggy, in December, and shared that he’s already begun to smile and laugh.
Jamie joked about his bold red carpet look – a tank top and sunglasses – while Sophie stunned in a black gown with a high slit, as they spoke to Daily Mail.
The Made In Chelsea star talked about the pressure to quickly get back in shape after having a baby, explaining she just wanted to wear something enjoyable and playful.
Honestly, these first few weeks as a mum have been incredible. Watching my little boy start to smile and laugh just melts my heart. There’s nothing better than when he looks at me and beams – I always tell him he makes my world go round, and it’s the most amazing feeling ever!
Jamie shared how much joy their new baby brings, saying it’s the most wonderful thing in the world and that they love their little one more than anything.
Sophie explained that new mothers often feel pressured to quickly regain their pre-pregnancy appearance. She added that she just wanted to have fun with her look for the evening and enjoy herself, playfully noting her son was even wearing sunglasses!
Jamie was amused to share his new look: a tank top – something he’d never worn before – and sunglasses. His wife chimed in, playfully noting that he was fully embracing his ‘dad style’ with this new outfit.
Jamie jokingly described this phase of life as a midlife crisis, saying she’s decided to embrace a certain style permanently. She playfully debated who was the better parent, initially claiming the title for herself, then quickly conceding it to the other parent.
Before attending the ceremony, Jamie and Sophie expressed their sympathy and concern for those affected by the missile strikes in the Middle East.
Sophie’s sister, Georgia, her husband, and their baby are stranded in Dubai after a missile from Iran hit the Palm Jumeirah.
Despite worries about the worsening conflict in the Middle East, the couple appeared composed while attending the ceremony at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena.
Georgia and her husband, Tom Berry, welcomed their daughter, Bella, in November. The family is currently enjoying a vacation in the UAE.
Before Jamie and Sophie attended the event, he shared a message on his Instagram Story expressing his support for those affected by the situation in the Middle East, saying, ‘Thinking of and praying for friends, families, and everyone in the Middle East.’
Oh my gosh, tonight is HUGE! The BRIT Awards are happening – the 46th time, can you believe it?! – and for the very first time, they’re at the incredible Co-op Live Arena in Manchester! I’m practically vibrating with excitement!
After getting rid of separate awards for male and female artists, the ceremony has received criticism for not nominating enough women. This was especially noticeable in 2023 when all the nominees for Artist of the Year were men.
Oh my gosh, 2026 is going to be AMAZING! Seriously, it’s like a total dream come true because they’ve said that around 70% of the nominees will be women or non-binary people! I’m SO excited for all the incredible talent we’re finally going to see recognized – it’s about time!
Lola Young and Olivia Dean are the frontrunners for the awards, each receiving five nominations. Lily Allen, making a successful return to music, is also a strong contender with three nominations for her latest album, ‘West End Girl,’ which has received positive reviews.
The 40-year-old singer details the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour, from Stranger Things, on her new album, including claims of infidelity during their relationship.
At the awards ceremony, she’s nominated for Artist of the Year alongside Young and Dean. She’s also in the running for Album of the Year and Pop Act.
Twenty-four-year-old Lola is nominated for both Breakthrough Artist and Alternative/Rock Act, but it’s unclear if she’ll be at the awards show.
After the news was announced, she exclaimed, ‘Five BRIT Award nominations? I can’t believe it! I’ve dreamed about this so many times that I half expect to wake up any minute now.’
I’m truly touched and so grateful for this. It’s an honor to be nominated with such talented people.
Olivia, age 26, recently achieved a feat not seen in the UK since Adele in 2021: she topped the charts with both her single, “Man I Need,” and her album, “The Art Of Loving,” in the same week. Both were released in 2025.
She has been nominated in five categories and will be performing at the Award ceremony.
The singer said it’s amazing to go from being a student in the audience at The BRIT School to performing there ten years later, and they’re really looking forward to the show in Manchester.
British rapper Dave received nominations in three categories: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act.
In 2025, the 27-year-old artist released his third album, ‘The Boy Who Played The Harp.’ He’s now the first British rapper to have three albums reach the top of the UK charts upon their release.
Raye received one nomination this year, following her impressive win of six awards last year.
The 28-year-old singer had a successful night, winning three awards. She started with Song of the Year for her popular track “Escapism” featuring 070 Shake, and later won awards for R&B Act and Best New Artist.
She now has the record for winning the most BRIT Awards at one event. Previously, Blur, Adele, and Harry Styles each held the record with four wins – Blur in 1995, Adele in 2016, and Harry Styles in 2023.
Raye has also been announced as the final act to perform at this year’s BRIT Awards.
The singer, whose real name is Rachel Keen, will take to the stage during the star-studded show.
Before taking the stage, Raye expressed her gratitude to the BRIT Awards for inviting her and her band to perform again. She shared her excitement and sent her love to everyone.
British icons Pulp have received their first nomination for Group of the Year since 1996.
Oh my gosh, you guys, this is HUGE! I’m seriously losing it! My absolute faves, HUNTR/X – you know, the KPop Demon Hunters from Netflix? – they’re nominated for International Song of the Year with ‘Golden’! And not only that, they’re also in the running for International Group! I knew they were going to take over the world, and this just proves it! I’m so proud!
Cynthia Erivo received her first nomination for Song of the Year with Mastercard for her performance of “Defying Gravity” from the musical Wicked.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always keeping an eye on who’s making waves, and this awards season is no exception! Alongside the homegrown talent, we’re also seeing some incredible international stars nominated, including Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, and the fantastic Chappell Roan. It’s such an exciting mix of artists!
Since 2011, the BRIT Awards have always taken place at London’s O2 Arena. However, the Daily Mail has reported that this year’s ceremony – considered the most important event in British music – will be held in Manchester, and organizers are planning to move the show to different cities around the UK in the years to come.
Jack Whitehall is back to host the awards show for the sixth time. He’s hosted before in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2025.
He left the show in 2022, with Mo Gilligan hosting for the next two years. In 2024, Maya Jama, Roman Kemp, and Clara Amfo all co-hosted the event.
This will be Whitehall’s first performance in Manchester, a city he feels shaped his comedic beginnings. He studied at The University of Manchester, which played a key role in developing his early career.
A new social media video, called ‘Ode to Manchester,’ features a TV personality showcasing famous spots in the city, including the Curry Mile and the set of Coronation Street.
He expressed his excitement about returning to the BRIT Awards in Manchester, a city he feels a strong connection to.
It’s incredibly special to be back in the city where I began my comedy journey, hosting this event at Co-op Live. The venue is just a short walk from the club where I nervously performed my first ten-minute set years ago – it feels like everything has come full circle.
He added: ‘Hopefully I get a few more laughs than I did that night. I cannot wait.’
The late Ozzy Osbourne will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Ozzy Osbourne, the singer for Black Sabbath, died last July and will be remembered for his unique and lasting influence on music around the globe.
The awards show will conclude with a special rock performance led by Robbie Williams. Sharon Osbourne, a longtime fan of Ozzy’s music and a friend of the family, personally requested that Robbie participate.
Sharon personally selected a unique version of “No More Tears” – the famous song from Ozzy’s hugely successful 1991 album of the same name – to be included.
This show will feature an amazing group of British and international musicians, including many who have performed with Ozzy Osbourne throughout his career.
Robbie will share the stage with Zakk Wylde, Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist, along with Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, and Tommy Clufetos.
As a longtime observer of pop culture and lifestyle trends, I always remember Ozzy Osbourne as more than just a legendary musician. He truly is an icon! But many people might not realize he also showcased his fun, family dynamic by hosting The BRIT Awards back in 2008 with Sharon, Kelly, and Jack. It was a memorable night that showed a different side of the Osbourne family.
Stacey Tang, who leads the 2026 BRIT Awards Committee and is a co-president at RCA Records (Sony Music UK), stated that Ozzy Osbourne is a hugely influential figure in music.
With a truly recognizable voice and captivating stage presence, he revolutionized rock music, influencing countless artists for years to come.
This Lifetime Achievement Award honors an incredible career marked by innovative work and lasting impact, still resonating with people around the globe.
Ozzy Osbourne died at his home in Buckinghamshire on July 22nd at the age of 76, following a heart attack and cardiac arrest that occurred outside of a hospital.
The event in 2026 will be the first of three years overseen by Sony Music UK, the company that led the effort to move the event to Manchester.
The event has been held at many iconic locations over the years, including Earl’s Court, the London Arena, Alexandra Palace, Hammersmith Apollo, the Dominion Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall, the Grosvenor Hotel, and its very first venue, Wembley Conference Centre.
However, relocating the ceremony from the capital marks a significant turning point in its history – perhaps the most dramatic one yet.
According to a source speaking with the Daily Mail, the BRIT Awards are leaving London for the first time in their 47-year history. Since the awards began in 1977, they’ve always been held in the capital city.
This will likely be disappointing for artists and performers in London, but many in the music industry believe these events don’t always have to take place at the same locations every year.
The BRIT Awards is the most important event in British music, and now more people will be able to experience it firsthand. By moving the event, it will be easier for fans in Manchester and nearby areas to attend.
Recently, many people have felt it was time to move the awards ceremony, following the examples of events like The Mercury Prize and The MOBO Awards. This is the first time the awards won’t be so focused on London, benefiting both those nominated and their fans.
Jason Iley, CEO of Sony Music UK & Ireland, announced that The BRIT Awards are moving to Manchester. He believes this change will energize the show, recognizing and supporting incredible music, especially given Manchester’s rich history of producing legendary artists.
Holding the BRIT Awards in Manchester, a city known for its lively arts scene, really embodies the awards’ energy and excitement. I’m thrilled the show will be at the incredible new Co-op Live arena.
Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, stated that bringing The BRIT Awards to the city is a significant achievement for the region.
It’s fantastic that this renowned international event is finally coming to the UK’s vibrant center for music and culture after 48 years.
Greater Manchester is world-renowned for its incredible musical history, and this summer promises some truly massive concerts.
We were able to achieve this thanks to our dedication to supporting new artists and providing them with opportunities to gain recognition.
We’re delighted the BPI chose Manchester, and we’ll do everything we can to ensure they’re happy with their choice.
Hosting the BRIT Awards in Manchester, a city famous for its vibrant nightlife, marks an exciting new phase for the event, and we’re committed to making it a spectacular show.
