Liam Gallagher fuels rumours he WILL make a surprise appearance at the BRIT Awards and says he ‘can’t wait to see old faces’ as his brother Noel prepares to receive Songwriter of the Year prize

Liam Gallagher hinted he might unexpectedly show up at the BRIT Awards, saying he’s looking forward to seeing familiar people there.

Noel Gallagher, brother of the Oasis singer, will be attending Saturday’s ceremony to accept the Songwriter of the Year award.

For weeks, fans have wondered if Liam will join his brother on stage. The brothers recently ended a long-running disagreement and are now touring together to huge success.

Liam seemed to dismiss the speculation earlier this week, telling fans he wasn’t attending because he doesn’t want to be around people from ITV, using a highly offensive term to describe them.

On Saturday, Liam seemed to confirm he would be in Manchester after responding to a fan account with the train schedule.

Liam previously commented that he had already arrived, driving up the night before, and was excited to see familiar people. He has since removed the comment.

Liam first deleted the post, but then appeared to change his mind. He responded to a fan’s question by asking if they were joking.

‘I am I’m not going to the awards I’m just in the area keeping an eye on things,’ Liam replied.

She added that recognizing Noel as Songwriter of the Year acknowledges his incredible musical achievements and his ongoing ability to inspire both artists and fans around the globe.

According to a source, the BRIT Awards are preparing a special video montage celebrating Noel Gallagher’s career before he receives his award.

The Daily Mail contacted Noel Gallagher’s representative for comment at the time. 

The BRIT Awards are being held at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena for the very first time tonight, marking the 46th year of the event.

After eliminating separate awards for male and female artists, the ceremony has received criticism for the small number of female nominees. This was especially noticeable in 2023, when all the nominees for Artist of the Year were men.

However, things will be different in 2026, as women and non-binary individuals will make up 70% of this year’s nominees.

Jack Whitehall is back to host the awards show for the sixth time. He’s hosted before in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2025.
