The highly praised 2023 British film Scrapper is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer. It originally aired on BBC Two last night.
This movie is different from many others on the service – you have 11 months to watch it, instead of the usual 30 days. This longer viewing window is probably because BBC Films helped fund the project.
The movie centers on Georgie, a 12-year-old girl living alone in London after her mother’s passing. She relies on her wits and a risky, unlawful scheme to make ends meet.

The movie Scrapper is receiving rave reviews, with a 94% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes. This indicates that almost all of the 117 critics surveyed by the site enjoyed the film.
Empire highlighted that Scrapper avoids the typical, bleak depiction of working-class stories, instead offering a vibrant, optimistic, and energetic film.
According to The Telegraph, the connection between Dickinson and Campbell’s characters is charming, and the most enjoyable moments are when they simply relax and have fun together.
RogerEbert.com agreed with other reviews, praising the film’s upbeat feel and the excellent performances from its main actors. They described it as a remarkable first film for the director.
In a round-up of the best films of that year, The Guardian dubbed it one of the best debuts.
You can currently watch Scrapper on BBC iPlayer. It’s not available on any other streaming services right now.
