Demi Moore says a ‘bold beautiful new chapter begins’ as she marks a new era and shows off her striking shorter locks – despite saying she would NEVER cut her hair

Demi Moore announced the start of an exciting new phase in her life, revealing a dramatically shorter hairstyle after previously stating she’d never cut her hair.

The 63-year-old Oscar nominee turned heads on Friday with a new look she revealed at the Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week.

Demi, known for her long, straight black hair, has debuted a fresh look with a shorter, wavy bob haircut.

After the Gucci fashion show, Demi shared her new hairstyle on Instagram, writing, ‘A bold, beautiful new chapter begins!’

Demi recently got a bob haircut, even though she used to say she’d never cut her long hair, explaining that maintaining it was a personal act of defiance against traditional expectations.

Back at her hotel, Demi showed off her fresh haircut in a video of herself dancing to a new song by her daughter, Scott LaRue Willis.

I just saw the sweetest video of Demi! She was dancing on her balcony, looking amazing with her new bob, and she posted about how incredibly proud she is of her daughter, Scout. It’s so heartwarming to see them both!

‘Her new single “So Many Ways” is out now. Listening and loving all the way from Italy ♥️.’

People showered her with praise on Friday after she shared a new photo, with many commenting on how great she looked and loving her style.

‘Love the hair! Tres chic!’; ‘Stunning hair makes you look even more beautiful and younger’;

‘The hair looks amazing! It’s been so long for so long and this just looks so fresh!’;

‘Omg that new hairstyle is so good’; ‘KILLER LOOK HELLO???’

However in 2022, Demi claimed she would never cut her famous long locks.

Honestly, I’ve really experimented with my hair over the years! I’ve gone through phases of doing everything – shaving it completely, trying out wild colors, even rocking a classic bob. But when I’m off duty and just relaxing, I prefer to keep it super simple and low-maintenance. I try to give my hair a break whenever I can!

Even a light touch bothers it. If I can’t find a safe place for it, I avoid applying heat and just let it heal naturally. I also try not to wash it too frequently, she explained.

She explained that she prefers having long hair now and only gets small trims to maintain it. She doesn’t think she’d ever cut it all off again.

Now that I’m older, I realize I don’t feel the need to prove anything. So if they want a different hairstyle for me, they can just give me a wig. Honestly, it’s not even certain if my hair would grow back normally!

She explained that keeping her hair long even in her 60s is a personal choice, and a way for her to resist traditional expectations placed on women.

Demi recalled hearing someone suggest that long hair isn’t appropriate for older women, and that idea had always stayed with her.

She wondered who decided what was acceptable, explaining, “If something can grow and isn’t harmful, I don’t see why we shouldn’t allow it.”

She explained she disliked rules that felt pointless or lacked a clear reason.
