Jonathan Ross opens up on chat show rivalry with Graham Norton and now Claudia Winkleman ahead of her new BBC series

Jonathan Ross, a long-time television host, recently discussed his competitive relationship with Graham Norton, especially as Claudia Winkleman prepares to launch her own chat show.

For nearly forty years, Jonathan, age 65, has interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment. However, he still faces strong competition from Irish presenter Graham, and will soon be competing with Claudia, 54, as well.

Jonathan recently admitted that Graham, age 62, is more likely to get high-profile guests, like film actors. He believes this is because the BBC can’t run advertisements to promote its shows.

He added that he’s never felt the need to criticize another performer’s work or been intimidated by anyone else’s success.

Ultimately, all you can do is put on the best show possible and hope people enjoy it. If it doesn’t resonate with an audience, they’ll make it clear, and you’ll naturally stop.

Jonathan also told The Sun he wished Claudia well as she gets ready to start her new show on March 13th.

The father of three believes Claudia will be very successful. He describes her as charming and a wonderful host, confident that she’s capable and well-liked by everyone.

‘I’ll be watching along with everyone else, looking forward to it and rooting for her.’

Jonathan Ross started his career as a television host in 1987 with the show The Last Resort. A year later, in 1988, he began hosting One Hour with Jonathan Ross.

I’ve always admired Jonathan Ross’s career! He was a familiar face on television throughout the nineties, hosting show after show. Then, in 2001, he made the move to the BBC and really hit his stride with ‘Friday Night With Jonathan Ross,’ a show he brilliantly hosted for almost a decade until 2010.

Jonathan’s current chat show with ITV has been on air since 2011.

Meanwhile, Graham has been at the helm of his show since 2007.

Claudia Winkleman kicked off her new BBC chat show on Friday with a playful jab at her well-known fondness for fake tan. She jokingly applied orange paint to her face, declaring, ‘I’m ready!”

Okay, so I just found out – and I’m practically vibrating with excitement – that it’s finally happening! The new version is going to premiere on Friday, March 13th at 10:40 PM! I’ve marked it in my calendar like ten times, and I’m already planning my whole night around it. Seriously, I can’t wait!

Okay, so I just saw a sneak peek of the new show, and it’s hilarious! Tess Daly, who you probably know from ‘Strictly Come Dancing,’ is playfully complaining that a certain orange color isn’t vibrant enough – and she’s demonstrating by dropping little oranges into a bucket of… well, let’s call it a colorful goo! It’s a funny little moment that really shows her personality.

She examined the paint, muttering, “It’s just not orange enough yet…” Then, she said, “Hi, it’s Claud, and I’m getting everything ready for my new show.”

‘They want me to tell you it starts on Friday the 13th, well, I’ve had a good run.’

Claudia applied her makeup, then pouted at the camera and said, ‘Yep, I’m ready,’ before walking away.

Among her first guests are famous faces like actor Jeff Goldblum, comedy icon Jennifer Saunders, comedian Tom Allen, and Vanessa Williams, known for her role in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing the set design for the new show is taking major inspiration from the incredible castle we all fell in love with on The Traitors. It’s all about capturing that same atmosphere – it really is Claudia’s signature style now, and they want to bring that magic to this new project!

Claudia expressed her excitement about her new job, saying she was both surprised and thankful to the BBC for the opportunity.

I fully expect to struggle, but I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to give it a shot.
