Ben Affleck pulls a cigarette out of its box with his MOUTH while driving… after ex Jennifer Garner talked co-parenting their kids

Ben Affleck pulled off an unusual move while driving his car on Thursday.

While driving his black car in Los Angeles, the 53-year-old actor managed to take a cigarette from its pack using only his mouth.

He was later spotted smoking a Marlboro Menthol cigarette while driving with the window open, and he was wearing a dark blue suit.

In 2005, Ben Affleck gave up smoking, and he credits hypnotherapy – a suggestion from his friend and colleague Matt Damon – for helping him do it.

He was driven to be healthier for his children with then-wife Jennifer Garner.

Garner recently shared how challenging it is to raise three children alone, explaining that her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, often steps in as both a father and a mother to Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.

During an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2008, Ben Affleck revealed that smoking a pack of cigarettes daily felt like an ingrained part of his identity.

‘I finally decided to quit smoking when I was gonna have a child.

‘That was the thing that sort of put it over the top for me.’

He explained that hypnosis usually involves relaxing in a comfortable chair, while the hypnotist speaks with you for about an hour, often emphasizing the harmful effects of nicotine.

Suddenly, you realized how foolish you’d been to continue this behavior for so long.

He shared that he quit smoking on November 10, 2005, and has since experienced a significant improvement in his health.

‘I feel like I’m in better shape than I was five years ago.’

But The Accountant star picked up the habit again in 2016.

Following his divorce from Jennifer Lopez in 2025, which was likely a difficult period, Affleck has been seen smoking cigarettes several times.

Jennifer Garner recently discussed the difficulties she’s experienced while raising her children with Ben Affleck.

They split after a decade of marriage in 2015.

The former couple have been focusing on raising their family together despite the divorce.

Garner, 53, has revealed they have both learned how to be ‘both parents’ for the children.

Jennifer shared on the Bustle podcast, One Nightstand, that when children are raised in two different homes, she and the other parent each take on both parental roles – she becomes both mother and father, and he does too.

It’s natural to feel pulled in different directions when parenting. Since you don’t have a partner to balance things out, you need to try and incorporate both gentle and firm approaches yourself.

While it’s a little sad to see things change, there’s also a positive side. It’s taught me to relax and not worry so much about controlling everything.
