Boy George ‘makes a surprise bid for Eurovision as he teams up with an Italian singer to compete’

Boy George is apparently trying out for Eurovision 2026! He’s joined forces with an Italian singer to make a bid for the competition.

Boy George, the 64-year-old singer from Culture Club, might be competing for San Marino in the upcoming contest in May.

After JJ won the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland with their song “Wasted Love”, the 70th contest will be held in Vienna, Austria.

Singer Senhit has collaborated with Boy George on her song “Superstar.” This follows Senhit’s previous performance representing San Marino at the 2021 competition.

I’m really rooting for this singer! She didn’t do as well as we’d hoped at Eurovision last time, finishing 22nd, but everyone’s saying having someone well-known like Boy George involved could seriously boost her chances this year. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

According to a source, San Marino’s team is very excited that Boy George is competing for them, calling it a major achievement.

Speaking to The Daily Star, sources said signing such a well-known player would be a huge achievement and a landmark moment for San Marino.

Daily Mail has contacted Boy George’s representative for comment.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the competition, but it’s facing its biggest challenge yet due to a growing number of countries choosing not to participate.

The UK’s Eurovision singer for this year was announced last week, after reports that the previous choice was removed by the BBC due to past comments and actions considered inappropriate.

The electronic music duo LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER will perform in Vienna in May, hoping to gain support from voters across Europe.

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, a longtime fan of Eurovision, called it ‘crazy’ to be involved after the announcement on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show.

Scott Mills, the host, mentioned his song for the competition wasn’t finished, but he’ll be playing it on his radio show soon.

Oh my gosh, can you believe it? The competition – my absolute favorite thing in the world – is turning seventy this year! But honestly, I’m so worried. It’s facing the biggest problem it’s ever seen, with more and more countries refusing to participate. It’s breaking my heart, seriously! I just hope they can figure things out and save it.

Last month, reports surfaced that the BBC was considering a particular artist to represent the UK, but they were dropped after old, problematic comments they’d made online were found during a standard background check.

Sam Battle, who performs as LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, began his music career in 2014 as the singer and guitarist for the indie rock band ZIBRA.

The band played at Glastonbury in 2015 as part of the BBC Introducing program. Afterward, he started a successful solo career, focusing on electronic and synth music – a sound he’s always loved.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC’s Head of Entertainment, expressed excitement about LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER representing the UK at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna. She highlighted his innovative approach, distinctive music, and energetic performances, calling him a memorable artist.

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER perfectly captures the UK’s spirit for Eurovision: inventive ideas, bold execution, and a uniquely British sense of humor. He’s sure to represent us well on the international stage in May.
