Disgraced Marvel star Jonathan Majors set to make comeback in CONSERVATIVE movie

Jonathan Majors, the actor recently removed from his Marvel role, is returning to the big screen in a film also produced by conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.

According to Deadline, the actor, previously convicted of assault after attacking his girlfriend, has been filming an action movie in South Carolina for Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend.

Details about the movie are scarce, as the production companies are keeping the title, storyline, and cast a secret.

The movie is said to be reminiscent of 80s and 90s classics like ‘Red Dawn’ and ‘Toy Soldiers,’ which both feature groups of teenage boys uniting to fight off invaders.

Kyle Rankin, known for directing films like Run Hide Fight and Bonfire Legend, is also writing and directing his newest project.

Shapiro is producing the film through The Daily Wire, while Dallas Sonnier is producing for Bonfire Legend. Travis Mills, Lillian Campbell, and Sydney Aucreman are also producers on the project.

Ben Shapiro announced on X that he was shocked by the news of Major’s return, saying, ‘You won’t believe what we’re doing!’

But others were taken aback by news of the former A-lister’s return.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) commented that Jonathan Majors, who was once seen as a rising Hollywood star, is now appearing in films produced by Ben Shapiro and The Daily Wire.

One person pointed out that this filmmaker had three hit movies in a single year, and is now working on a project with Ben Shapiro. Others commented on the surprising shift in his career.

Oh my god, back in 2020, Jonathan Majors was everywhere! He was working with Spike Lee, had his own show on HBO, and everyone was saying he was going to be HUGE in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! It felt like he was about to take over everything, and I was so excited for what was coming. Seriously, it was incredible to watch him rise like that – I knew he was destined for greatness!

‘This is a generational bag-fumbling that will be talked about for years.’

I was so excited to see Jonathan Majors take on Kang the Conqueror! He’d already proven what he could do with amazing roles in ‘Creed III’ and ‘Lovecraft Country,’ and after his first appearance in ‘Loki’ and then really shining in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ everyone – including me – thought he was set to become the MCU’s next huge villain. It felt like a perfect fit!

Following his arrest in March 2023 for attacking his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, and his subsequent conviction for reckless assault and harassment, Marvel terminated their relationship with him.

I was so excited to hear the big news at Comic-Con this July! It’s official: Robert Downey Jr. is going to be playing Doctor Doom, and he’ll be the main villain in the next two Avengers films. Talk about a fantastic casting choice – I think he’s going to absolutely nail the role!

The movie previously known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will now be titled Avengers: Doomsday, as announced at San Diego Comic-Con.

As a huge fan, it really stung me when Jonathan Majors shared with TMZ how upset he was about the way Marvel seems to be going. He said he was ‘heartbroken,’ and honestly, I get it. It felt like a real blow to hear him express that disappointment, especially knowing how much he believed in the direction things were heading.

Okay, so they asked Majors if it bothered him that he didn’t get the same chances as Robert Downey Jr. and Ezra Miller – you know, those guys got to be huge superheroes! – considering his legal trouble was ‘just’ a misdemeanor. Honestly, it totally felt like they were implying he should be getting those roles too, and I’m right there with him! It’s like, give the guy a break, everyone deserves a chance, and he’s incredibly talented! It just doesn’t seem fair that others got passes and he didn’t.

You know, as someone who’s watched a lot of artists navigate the public eye, I’ve noticed a real difference in how things have played out recently. It’s been wonderful to see figures like Downey and Miller welcomed with open arms – people are genuinely curious about their work and supportive of their journey. Honestly, it’s something I didn’t always experience myself, and it’s definitely been on my mind.

In 1996, Robert Downey Jr. was arrested for driving under the influence. During the arrest, police discovered heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, and a .357 Magnum handgun in his vehicle.

He received a three-year prison sentence for violating his probation, but was released after serving just one year.

He battled addiction for years but has now been sober for a long time. This recovery happened before he launched his acting comeback with the 2008 film Iron Man.

In 2015, California Governor Jerry Brown pardoned him, giving him back his right to vote and serve on a jury.

In recent years, Miller has faced several legal problems, notably a 2022 charge for felony burglary related to stealing alcohol.

Meanwhile, Majors was found guilty of one misdemeanor assault charge and one harassment violation.

According to his former partner, Jabbari, Majors physically assaulted her in an SUV. She claims he struck her head, twisted her arm, and fractured her finger during an argument.

She also testified that he had been controlling and manipulative during their relationship.

She claimed he would get very angry at home, sometimes throwing and breaking things against the walls.

Jabbari also claimed that Majors tried to control who she was allowed to spend time with socially.

Majors was ultimately ordered to complete a yearlong counseling program but avoided jail time.

When sentencing Majors, Judge Michael Gaffey pointed out that both the prosecution and defense agreed prison time wasn’t appropriate, and that Majors had never been convicted of a crime before.

In November 2025, Majors and Jabbari reached a settlement in the civil lawsuit she had filed, and they both agreed to drop the case.

Jonathan Majors, an Emmy nominee, recently married actress Meagan Good. Good shared with TMZ that they won’t be able to celebrate their first anniversary because Majors is currently working on a film project.

Oh my gosh, when she talked about him coming back to acting, she called it a blessing! It totally is! It’s been such a rollercoaster, honestly, but even when things were complicated, you could just feel his incredible talent. I mean, she’s right – he’s seriously one of the most gifted actors I’ve ever witnessed. It’s just amazing to have him back!

It’s wonderful to see him pursuing his passion and using the talents God gave him, and I’m grateful for that.

Okay, so Jonathan Majors is going to be in this amazing new movie called ‘Merciless’! And get this – it’s directed by Martin Villeneuve, which means he’s the brother of the Denis Villeneuve, the guy who did ‘Dune’! I’m already obsessed, it’s a supernatural thriller about revenge, and honestly, with those two involved, it’s going to be incredible. I can just feel it!

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Jonathan Majors, as well as The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, seeking a statement.
