Adam Peaty’s furious aunt says calling Gordon Ramsay ‘dad’ is ‘a slap in the face’ to his parents and claims he ‘toadies’ up to his in-laws for ‘money and fame’

Following reports that Adam Peaty now refers to his father-in-law, Gordon Ramsay, as ‘Dad’ during a family dispute, his aunt has publicly criticized the swimmer’s behavior.

The Peaty family is experiencing significant tension after Adam, 31, reportedly prohibited his parents, Caroline and Mark, from attending his wedding to Holly, 26, in December. This came to light in November.

With their conflict still ongoing, Gordon – who recently released a Netflix documentary about the Olympian – shared that Adam has begun referring to him as ‘Dad’. Caroline’s sister, Louise Williams, criticized this as overly flattering and insincere.

Louise shared on Threads about the dedication of a bricklayer named Mark. She explained that he worked incredibly hard, even to the point of injuring his hands, to afford swimming lessons.

Oh my god, Adam, hearing about your dad just breaks my heart! How could anyone even think of doing that to such a selfless man? Seriously, he worked himself to the bone, literally! He was a bricklayer, and that’s hard work – back-breaking, exhausting labor. And he did it all, day after day, without a single complaint, all so Adam could chase his dreams. It’s just… it’s unbelievable. He was such a good dad!

The Ramsays released a new six-episode documentary last week. It showcases Gordon opening restaurants in London’s Bishopsgate and includes a quick look at Adam and Holly’s engagement party.

Before the documentary came out, Caroline asked to be cut from the film, even though she only appeared briefly in one scene.

Since the documentary came out, Gordon shared that Adam now calls him ‘dad.’ Adam sent him messages like, ‘Hey dad, what are you up to?’ and ‘Hey dad, are you free later?’ Gordon said it was an incredibly moving experience.

Louise was furious when she heard the news and angrily told Adam to acknowledge everything his parents had done for him. She specifically pointed out his father Mark’s hard work as a bricklayer, which had helped Adam achieve his Olympic dream.

I’m so emotional writing this. Your dad worked incredibly hard, even hurting his hands, to afford your swimming lessons before you started getting sponsored…

He worked incredibly long and physically demanding days as a bricklayer, never complaining. It’s also upsetting to see how Adams is behaving – constantly trying to please Mr. Ramsay and treating my sister and brother-in-law so poorly.

She went on to mention that Adam had recently credited his swimming coach, Melanie Marshall, with helping him become the person he is today.

Louise continued, expressing sympathy for Adam’s father. She questioned how Adam could behave that way, pointing out that his father had worked incredibly hard to help him achieve his goals.

You acknowledge Mr. Ramsay as a father figure and Mel as a major influence on who you’ve become. But what about your actual parents? Your behavior is incredibly disrespectful.

Oh my gosh, you guys, she totally went off on the Ramsays! She was talking about how they try to control the narrative with their documentaries and PR people, and then she wrote this amazing thing – it was like, ‘Go ahead and try to offend us, I seriously don’t even care!’ It was so raw and real, and honestly, it just proves she’s not afraid of anyone. I’ve read it like a million times, and it still gives me chills!

Adam and Holly Ramsay are aware they’ve made mistakes, and they’re now trying to improve their public image through a lot of displays of affection, both on television, online, and in the press. They’ve hired a public relations team to make their actions appear more positive.

But ultimately, the truth prevails. While you might be able to deceive people temporarily, the truth always comes to light. Consider the unpleasant aspects revealed in his documentary.

Gordon recently made news with jokes about his wedding, exaggerating that the £65,000 flower bill ‘brought him to tears’ and that he’s paying it off gradually. Not long after, he was seen driving his new £1 million Aston Martin.

Louise playfully shared a message formatted like a meme, asking: ‘If you had £1 million, would you buy a car, or finally pay the florist the £65,000 you owe?’

She emphasized how much effort his parents had invested in his swimming, and also pointed out the sacrifices his siblings made because of Caroline’s dedication to his training.

Let’s be real, a lot of us aren’t being chauffeured around by Mom, aunts, uncles, or our friends! It’s easy to take for granted when others handle the driving, but it’s something many of us simply don’t have. It really makes you appreciate a little help when it comes to getting from A to B, doesn’t it?

It wasn’t your mother who spent time making teas for community events to help cover your expenses, nor were it your siblings who lost time with her on weekends because she was busy supporting you.

Back in November, Caroline has shared a tribute to Louise for being her ‘protector’ amid the feud.

‘She eventually becomes the comfort zone which every elder sister secretly needed all alone.’

Daily Mail has contacted Adam’s representatives for comment.
