Ant McPartlin says he has ‘cried a lot’ as he speaks for the first time about his beloved dog Hurley’s death and how ‘everyone that he loved was there’ after coming face-to-face with ex-wife Lisa Armstrong for heartbreaking goodbye

It absolutely broke my heart to hear about Hurley. Ant McPartlin has shared how much he’s been grieving, and honestly, he said he’s cried a lot – and who wouldn’t be devastated? Hurley was such a special dog, and it’s clear how much Ant loved him. It’s just so sad.

Ant McPartlin, age 50, shared the sad news of his dog’s death on his podcast, co-hosted with his close friend Declan Donnelly.

After a difficult divorce and court case, Ant shared care of his dog, Hurley, with his ex-wife, Lisa Armstrong.

Ant shared his gratitude, saying he wanted to thank everyone for their kind wishes and support following the passing of Hurley. He was deeply touched by the outpouring of sympathy.

His passing was a real shock, but the outpouring of love from people everywhere has been incredible. I’ve felt it even while on vacation and this morning, with strangers approaching me on the street to offer their support.

As a photo of Hurley came up on the screen, Ant said, ‘There’s my sweet boy, Hurley. He was a light brown Labrador and he was twelve and a half years old when he died.’

He died peacefully in my arms at the vet’s office, surrounded by our whole family and everyone who loved him. It was a heartbreaking, but also beautiful, moment where we were all able to say our goodbyes.

The Daily Mail reported that Ant and Lisa came together again eight years after ending their relationship, sharing a very emotional moment.

Ant shared that he’s been through a lot of sadness, especially thinking about people who have lost pets they loved. He understands their pain because he knows how difficult it is to lose a beloved animal.

It’s been incredibly difficult. I’m constantly reminded of him, especially when I’m walking my other dogs. We used to walk together, and I often find myself crying during those walks, or even when I’m preparing their food because his bowl is still right there with theirs. It’s just been awful, but I appreciate your support.

It was really kind of you to come and talk with me, and I truly appreciate it. It’s comforting to share these feelings, and it means a lot to hear from someone who understands how painful losing a beloved pet can be. Thank you so much.

Ant had previously acknowledged Hurley’s support in his recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.

Lisa recently posted some adorable old photos of Hurley when he was a puppy, capturing happy moments from their walks and life at home.

The makeup artist received an outpouring of support and sympathy from many of her celebrity friends, including Anthea Turner, Holly Willoughby’s sister Kelly, Gemma Atkinson, and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

The Strictly Come Dancing makeup artist shared the poem ‘Rainbow Bridge’ on her Instagram Stories as a tribute to Hurley.

You weren’t just an animal; you were family. I’ll always cherish the memory of your sweet puppy eyes when we first met.

You used to dart around playfully, excitedly weaving between our feet whenever we got a treat for you.

From the moment we welcomed you into our family, you filled our lives with joy and adventure, leaving a lasting paw-shaped imprint on our hearts. We’ll always cherish the memories of all the places we explored together.

We’ll always remember how happy you were to see us, your cheerful tail wags at the door, and all the fun tricks you used to do. We’ll especially miss your sweet paw shake.

You always understood us, loved us without limits, and were happiest when running and exploring the world.

We had to say goodbye, and it broke our hearts. You weren’t just a pet; you were family, our very best friend.

We’ll always treasure the love we had for you, our beloved dog, our friend, and a cherished member of our family.

She also shared a snap of him by the fireplace with the caption: ‘Forever our boy.’
