Zachery Ty Bryan will spend 16 months in jail after being convicted of charges related to a drunk driving arrest that occurred in La Quinta in 2024.
Actor Tim Allen, known for his role on “Home Improvement,” entered a guilty plea to a felony DUI on Monday. According to reports from TMZ and People, Allen admitted his blood alcohol content was 0.15% – almost double the legal limit of 0.08%. He also admitted to having been convicted of DUI twice before. These prior convictions and high blood alcohol level mean he could face a stricter penalty, including a longer jail sentence.
Two other charges, including a misdemeanor for property damage, were reportedly dismissed.
I was really surprised to hear that Bryan, who I remember so well as the oldest son on “Home Improvement,” was arrested back on February 17th. Apparently, the police stopped him because they thought he was involved in a car accident. It ended up being a lot more serious than just an accident, though – he’s now facing felony DUI charges and also a misdemeanor for not showing up to court when he was supposed to.

Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role on ‘Home Improvement,’ was arrested in Oregon, continuing a pattern of legal issues. His fiancée was also arrested and is suspected of attempted assault.
I just learned some details about the actor you might remember from “First Kid” back in ’96. Unfortunately, he wasn’t granted probation. He’s already been in custody for 57 days, which means he’s looking at roughly another 14 months behind bars. It’s a tough break, and I hope he can turn things around.
Bryan has been arrested several times in recent years. Most recently, in December, he was arrested in Oregon for allegedly violating his probation related to a previous conviction for assault in a domestic violence case. This was his sixth arrest in five years. He was also arrested in Oklahoma in October 2024 on felony DUI charges.
According to People magazine, he’s scheduled to appear in court in Lane County, Oregon, on March 2nd for a hearing regarding a violation of his probation, stemming from an arrest in December.
