Yellowstone star’s absence from spinoff Marshals is CONFIRMED as she doesn’t attend premiere

Another clue suggests a Yellowstone actor won’t be appearing in the new show, Marshals, when it premieres on March 1st.

On Tuesday evening Kelsey Asbille, 34, was not seen at the Los Angeles premiere for the new series.

The splashy event was held at Autry Museum of the American West.

Kelsey Asbille played Monica Dutton in Yellowstone, the wife of Kayce Dutton, portrayed by Luke Grimes.

Actor Jeremy Grimes attended the premiere as the lead in the show Marshals. Seventeen-year-old Brecken Merrill, known for playing Tate Dutton on Yellowstone, was also there.

The actor, once a popular child star, appears significantly older now compared to his days on the successful TV show that concluded in December 2024 after five seasons.

The trailer for Marshals also signaled that Asbille is not on the show.

In a January scene, someone covered a body with a sheet while it lay in Kayce’s bed. Shortly after, Kayce was shown lying in the same bed, but the space beside him was vacant.

Honestly, hearing Kayce talk really hit me hard. He basically said that everything he ever cared about, everything that mattered to him, was just…gone. It’s heartbreaking, and it really sets the tone for everything that’s happening with him.

Many fans reacted with anger and sadness to the character’s death. One Reddit user wrote, ‘They really did Monica wrong! Killing her off like that was awful,’ and another simply expressed their disappointment, saying, ‘So sad for Monica.’

The video also suggests a potential new romance for Kayce, as several of his female colleagues at the Marshal’s office appear to be attracted to him.

Asbille may show up in flashback shots, however. The network has yet to confirm anything.

The new show premieres on March 1st and follows a highly skilled group of US Marshals working in Montana.

This tough group takes on gang members, the cartels and even Grizzly bears.

Gil Birmingham is returning as Broken Rock Reservation chief Thomas Rainwater.

In a previous trailer, he tells Kayce that the Dutton family has a violent nature, but Kayce is an exception – he’s a protector.

The show also brings back Mo Brings Plenty as Mo.

Ash Santos, known for American Horror Story, Tatanka Means from Killers of the Flower Moon, and Arielle Kebbel, who starred in The Vampire Diaries, have also joined the cast.

They’re becoming regular cast members on the show, portraying Kayce’s colleagues as US Marshals named Andrea, Miles, and Belle.

Brett Cullen, known for playing Thomas Wayne in the movie Joker, will be a recurring character in the series as Harry Gifford, the regional head of the US Marshals in Montana.

The series ‘Marshals: A Yellowstone Story’ will include Logan Marshall-Green, who previously announced he’d be playing Pete Calvin, a friend of Kayce from their time in the military.

The show centers on Kayce as he tries to establish justice in Montana. He and his team face the challenges of juggling their personal lives, their responsibilities, and the emotional toll of being the final protectors against the area’s ongoing violence.

Luke Grimes played Kayce Dutton in the popular series Yellowstone, appearing in all five seasons of the show about the Dutton family and their ranch.

Kevin Costner departed the series after completing only part of the fifth season, leading to the death of his character, John Dutton, in a planned assassination.

He left the show amidst speculation of a disagreement with Taylor Sheridan, but it seems the main reason was scheduling issues with his new Western movie, Horizon. He directed, starred in, and co-wrote the four-part film, which required a significant time commitment.

Horizon, a film Costner spent decades developing and personally financed with over $38 million, released its first installment last year, but it didn’t perform well at the box office.
